Decide, les baer, wilson combat, ?

If you're open to other options I'd take a look at Dan Wesson. I have three, a Vigil chambered in 45 and a 9mm Guardian and Eco. All have been fantastic. They are IMO the best bang for the buck as far as 1911's go.

Decide, les baer, wilson combat, ?

I've never owned a Les Baer but own two Wilsons, the EDC X9 and the X9s. As C-Grunt said they're smooth as butter, accurate and with thousands of rounds through the two of them I've had no malfunctions of any kind. They've exceeded my expectations.

    Illinois Gun Registry Solution

Some people may. I don't know that there's a law that's passed that some people don't ignore, so if the standard we use is only passing laws that no one will disregard we don't need to bother passing any laws. I also don't know that I'd call this a scheme. It's someone looking at the language of...

    Illinois Gun Registry Solution

There are no good solutions here, as Illinois is a corrupt state which refuses to prosecute a significant percentage of violent offenders while doing everything they can to do away with the 2A rights of law abiding people. When I lived in the Chicago area I bought many guns from Law Weapons, and...

    Illinois Gun Registry Solution

Attached is a video for a solution for the Illinois gun registry as well as other states with similar restrictions. If you choose to go this route make sure to watch the entire video as there are things you need to do to be legal. Law Weapons had their attorneys review this to confirm it was...

Have you ever sold/bought reloaded ammo?

I haven't sold my reloads and won't buy them from a private party I don't know, as I can't know whether that person knew what they were doing. If it was from someone I knew and trusted, I would.

Big shout out to Alchemy Custom Weaponry

Is there a difference in the quality now?

Big shout out to Alchemy Custom Weaponry

Well said. Well made 1911's have class that other guns can't match, IMO and these guns are a thing of beauty. Assuming my budget allows I'd love to pick one up in the not too distant future.

    Nighthawk T3 … Anygood?

It's not a bad idea to check with them regarding the upgrades. I don't know that they did something to void the warranty, but it's worth asking. Unless there's something wrong with the gun that I'm not aware of I wouldn't be surprised if it sold quickly. I know if I came across it I'd buy it on...

    Nighthawk T3 … Anygood?

I had been wanting one of their guns but as other have said couldn't swing $4000 for one. I came across a used Talon on Guns.com for $1999 and called Nighthawk to confirm that their warranty follows the gun, which it does. Knowing that the gun is warrantied for life was enough for me to take a...

    Primer Seating Question

Thanks for the responses. They’re pretty much what I thought but I figured I’d ask. Ballman6712’s suggestion is what I was thinking. Film495, the Ginex primers seat completely when I’ve hand primed the brass in the past.

    Primer Seating Question

I have a Dillon XL750 reloader which is currently set up for 9mm. I have CCI, Federal, Remington and Ginex SPP primers. The first three primers seat fully, but for 3 to 4 rounds per 50 using the Ginex primers, the primers do not quite seat completely. The difference is not much and is difficult...

Good/Bad Areas and What to Carry

The problem with "I'm in a good area" thinking is that criminals are mobile and can travel to good areas. Shortly after we moved from the Chicago area two of our former neighbors in separate incidents were in Chicago suburbs with statistically low crime rates and had gun fights break out around...

Pistol Purchase In A Gun Shop

This doesn't apply to the OP's gun, but if buying used I try to buy a gun who's manufacturer's warranty follows the gun. I had been wanting a Nighthawk Custom Talon but couldn't swing the $4000 price for a new one. I came across a used one for $1999 on Guns.com, and after confirming with...

    Real life decision making

I'd call 911 to report it and would leave. The police are equipped to handle this situation. I'm most likely not.

Risk of Injury from Concealed Carry

A few years ago a doctor botched a simple procedure resulting in my back and neck problems. I'm mostly recovered from them, but carrying IWB or OWB all day aggravates my back, so I pocket carry. That may be an option, Kleanbore, for times you're not able to or comfortable carrying OWB.

Bear Attack in Canada Last Week Settle Guns vs Spray

I do. I'll go for walks down a road by my house and from time to time I'll come across a dog running free. I don't know who they belong to. I carry a gun regularly and add pepper spray when I go for a walk as I'd rather use that if necessary as I'd hate to shoot a dog unless I had no choice.

Bear Attack in Canada Last Week Settle Guns vs Spray

A number of years ago I bought a Ruger 454 Casull. I couldn't hit anything with it and wound up replacing it with a 10mm, the largest caliber I could shoot accurately.

Attorneys on Retainer self defense program

That depends on the program. The USCCA has you use their attorneys with the option of selecting your own, assuming the attorney would accept the USCCA's terms. It's one of the things I didn't like about the program. Armed Citizen's Network allows you to select whatever attorney you want. I...
