My Garand seems "too nice" for June 1944 production

Great suggestion thank you. I looked at Cabela's and a few other places. I buy from Load X Ammo which is in Santa Rosa, CA and they have 50 rounds for $24.00 which isn't that bad I guess. I know the California market is messed up. Appreciate the advice on the CMP! Plan on shooting it...

My Garand seems "too nice" for June 1944 production

A few years ago I joined a gun club, became a CMP member and was all set to do it then stuff came up and by the time I was ready my membership expired and I couldn't be bothered to re-do everything again. The rifle appears to be 99% condition. The two appear to be 10 years apart.

My Garand seems "too nice" for June 1944 production

That's kind of what the gun store said. On the consignment pieces they call the owner but Garands sell super fast unless they're badly chopped up. Thanks for your time. So I shouldn't go off the serial number as far as when the gun was made because it's a parts gun? Cheers again!

My Garand seems "too nice" for June 1944 production

That's what I thought. It seems pretty solid. At $900 did I get raped? I'm in California.

My Garand seems "too nice" for June 1944 production

I am assuming this rifle was completely re-built/re-furbished. I looked up the serial number which seems to suggest it was built in June of 1944. I bought it as a consignment piece at my local gun dealer. Any help would be appreciated I tried to take clear photos and I looked and hope I am...

What 1911 would you buy with $1200?

I bought a Gold Cup for $800. Seems good enough for me.

    Wait time on 7.62x39?

I bought 1,000 rounds of 7.62x39 for $290 before tax, or 3.5 cents per round. Those links above are 30 cents per round more expensive. No thanks!

    "Assault rifle"

I bought a Saiga in 7.62x39. You can convert to AK if you want. Nice rifle.

Sig 226 ( how good is ths gun )

Excellent choice! I have one in .40 and love it. Never failed to work, easy to clean, nice weight to it. Get some Hogue grips and you're done!

    Colt 1903

I'd use a .38 snubbie hammerless. The 1903 was very popular in its day because of how slim it was. I love mine and if that's all you got it's better than harsh language!

    S&W internal lock - bought a snubbie

I would think if you removed the lock and the gun was ever used to kill somebody the DA would try and use that against you. That's why I would never do it.

Why is a fired case shipped w/gun?

With my Sig P226 you can just buy a new barrel so it seems silly.

    Wait time on 7.62x39?

I just go to the gun show. Save cash and shipping.
