Don't forget the crimp;)
Full power magnum loads require a firm roll crimp. A weak crimp can result in a dirty load with inconsistent velocities and lots of unburnt powder.
My Worst Leading Experience
About a year ago I pulled out some old 125gr LSWC bullets from HSM that were labeled as .38spl. I loaded up some proven .38spl recipes and took them to my range for some plinking. They leaded my K-frame terribly.
After wasting too many hours inspecting the gun...
Be aware that the Alliant data for their powders (Unique and Power Pistol) is significantly hotter than the Hornady data. The starting Hornady charge for Power Pistol in that manual will not cycle all my guns.
Hornady lists 5.0gr of Unique as a max load. I find that it is a very...
PP gives top tier velocities in both .380 and 9x19. You can simulate NATO spec velocities pretty easily.
I haven't played with CFE Pistol yet so I can't comment on it.
The HAP bullet is designed as an affordable alternative to the XTP for practice and matches. I think the Hogdgon data may be watered down to keep the loads within the minor PF range.
I know for a fact that the min load they have listed would not have cycled my S&W Shield since it...
Your Autocomp loads seem too light.

I run all of my 124gr Autocomp loads in the low 5ish gr range. I doubt that 3.6gr will cycle your gun.
Something very strange is going on with the Hogdgon data for the HAP bullet. If you look at all the other...
Remember, they run at much lower pressures than your 9x19 stuff.
I have never had a .380 case split but I always lose the little bastards long before they wear out:banghead:
That 200gr GD is an excellent SD bullet for for a .44spl. I had very good luck with Unique for similar applications with a Taurus revolver that was in the same size and weight class as the Charter Arms Bulldogs.
I kept the charges just barely above the mid range data.
Are you asking about shipping or storage?
For a private citizen to ship loaded ammo is a PITA. Ask me how I know;)
You must print an ORM-d label and affix it to the package. You can not send it USPS it has to go UPS. Further complicating things, you cannot take it to any UPS pickup...
Mine drifted badly. I would not rely on one for max loads.
I upgraded to this:

A much better scale for only a few dollars more. Its been very precise and reliable for the past year. It is a...
It's also commonly referred to as ".22 Spitfire". You may want to querry under that name if you haven't already. I used to have a finished round in my oddball cartridge collection.
I always seat and crimp in the same step for pistol and most revolver rounds. I do this on both a Loadmaster and a Turret set up. It's easy and repeatable.
I second Walkalong's opinion that you probably have too much crimp. Did you reduce the amount of crimp after changing to cast boolits...
I have driven these exact bullets at 5.9gr seated to 1.14" with no problems. You won't be able to exceed 1200fps with a regular pistol without exceeding the max posted load for the plated Rainier bullets.
You absolutely do not need to practice with expensive factory loads. This is bogus advice. What you must do is run enough of the factory loads to ensure reliable function in your pistol. What you can do as a reloader, is tune a load that matches your factory load for POA/POI. However, at...
H110 and 296 are the exact same powder and have been for at least 20yrs.
H110/296 mag revolver loads will usually display a little bit of primer flattening at safe loads. Since you have the Hornady data for the exact bullet you are using, I would trust that over the more general data from...
Arrggghh!!! A thousand curses upon whomever is importing this stuff.
Dirty flash holes are not easy to see. I should just buy some extra decapping pins now, I'll need them eventually.
