I love my .280. I have hunted elk with it using 150 gr. partitions, thought I never connected with an elk, they have taken a few whitetails with no problems, same goes for 140 gr. BT.
I am by no means a GM fan either. I will usually go there and look around, and that's it. I have found one good buy at GM, and that was my Burris FFII scope/bino set for $175 last Christmas.
I have two Bushnell Elite 3200's and I am happy with them. I had three, but only got rid of the third one, as I sold the rifle it was on. I have Burris and Nikon scopes along with other cheaper brands. I like my Bushnell Elites the best.
Like others have said, no real deals at pawn shops around my house. Heck, I have seen many want more than retail on a used one than the new ones cost. I have tried haggling with a few, but to no avail.
I've got a 742 in .243 that was my father's. It has jammed on me one time. I took it to my father in-law that was a gunsmith at the time and had him look it over. He gave it a good cleaning, and since then I always make sure I give it a good cleaning aftr each use. Keep it clean, and it should...

I am about to start shooting more 22 lr. Mine has been sitting idol for 10 years now. I am also shooting a lot more ML as well. I got most of my ML stuff on clearance when I lived in MT, and it was cheap, as they had no special season for it.
I've got a Savage 116, and a Remington 700 BDL DM. My 700 shoots a wee bit more accurate, but the Savage is nipping at it's heels. I have the non-accu trigger, and replaced it with a SSS trigger about 7 years ago. From the faftory I like the Remington action and trigger better, but my rifles are...
High winds!
If the pellets that are dropping are round and will crumble in your hand, it may be snow pellets. Also, probably the NWS has an automated weather observing machine, and it can not distinguish between certain precip types hence the snow and it not really snow.
I had a 7mm-08 in the Encore and I regret selling it. Accurate, and I had to deal with TC's Customer service, and it was great. My butt stock cracked the second shot out of the box.
