Its tough... There are soo many good looking Remy rigs wearing some wicked stocks. I know the performance of these two rifles are are awesome. As for building a 700 from scratch, I wouldn't mind picking up a short chambered barrel and reaming it to the right size.
I guess if I could pick up...
AR10s are going for a pretty penny right now. ~$2500 That and I already have an AR15.
The savage could probably shoot better if I ran some hand loads through it. I get 1-1.5 groups with Remington Core-Lokt 165gn.
I thought about picking up the optic and a set of reloading dies and start...
I'm looking to build a 300-500yd tactical rifle. I currently have a Savage 111FCXP3 in 30.06 (No accutrigger or accustock) I know these Savages can be a real shooter, however the aftermarket for them is kinda small compared to the Remy 700s. Especially when you look into the stock options...
Well I have an AR15 and a Bushy ACR. So reloading some 223/556 sounds like fun. I just purchased the following from Midwayusa
Lee 4 Hole turret press kit -- http://www.midwayusa.com/product/622290/lee-4-hole-turret-press-with-auto-index-value-kit
Lee double disk kit

Yeah... that is pretty much what I have been figuring out. Turns out their nothern store is about 300mi from where I live. Might have to make a trip up there one day with a wad of cash. :)
Well since they stopped making these about 30yrs before I was born.... finding a new one is gonna be pretty tough....LOL I'm looking at picking up a quality refurbished Garand. Who are the reputable folks in the game. I'm not looking for a match grade $4k+ rifle. Not a jalopy though. Needs...
I agrees with Polar Express. I would get a 22lr conversion. I have the ciener 22lr conversion. Picked it up from CTD.com for $160 or so. You can get complete dedicated22 uppers... but you are still gonna pay for them. Might as well spend the extra $100 and get one that shoot 556. Later you...
Thanks for the replies. This stuff shot great. I was getting decent groupings even with a stiff crosswind. I even had some AP rounds that did a good job of knocking some good holes in 3/4" plate.
:)
:)
I have a Savage 111 30.06 sprg that I picked up a few years ago. Love it. I have been shooting remington/federal with no problems.
I recently acquired half a case of M2 ball .30 cal by Twin City Arsenal. I do not know the date of manufacture. Probably 40ish years old. Aside from the...
