ok, bumping an older thread here for info for future people looking. Finally found a powder that works right, Hodgdon H322! with a 300gr bullet, 54grains was pushing it 16xx, Ill probably back it down to 52gr which was mid 1500fps range, but we will see how it does for accuracy. One handed...

Ok, chrony'd it today, not sure what to try.. Factory ammo is running 1530ish, Ive tried 36.5 and 37gr of powder, cant get any more speed, it averages 1250-1260fps with the 300gr bullet. Do I need a tighter crimp?

I dont care either, even the factory ammo leaves powder in there. I was just curious about it. I loaded up a few at 36.5 and two at 37gr to see how they do.

Ok, shot a few of the 300gr JHP with 36gr of IMR4198, shot good, felt lighter than the factory 300gr ammo I was shooting, anyone compare factory to handloads on a chrony for curiousity sake? I also get a lot of unburnt powder in the barrel, factory loads and handloads about the same, normal...

ordered some dies and 300gr bullets. Looks like people just use a standard large rifle primer, and some IMR4198.

Picked up this cool pistol yesterday, need to reload for it, anyone doing this and have a pet 300gr reload they would share? Not looking for a huge bullet and massive recoil, Just a fun to shoot yet will work for some hunting reload. Thanks!

Im sure Ill buy the LCR, I cant find any reason not to other than its a bit more money.

dont want casings flying around, thats why the wheel gun, and I agree, Id rather have the option of the hammer. But it is what it is, nobody has the taurus in stock here anyway, there is a 605 steel frame in stock though. I suppose worse case scenerio, if I dont like it, I can easily sell it...

yeah I know, but from what Ive read people that have had ruger problems, had no problems with ruger either. Id rather have a good gun with no warranty, than something I have to send back. Right? Like I said, I REALLY want the taurus, but read too much bad.
