I am glad to hear the positive feedback. I guess there is some light at the end of the tunnel, that being they are good barrels when they finally come. I will keep you guys posted on when I get the barrel, and how it shoots whenever it arrives.

Rem 700 I have a Remington 700 SPS Tactical in .308 with a 16.5" barrel that does fine out to 600yrds. Its not the most accurate rifle, but its fun to shoot. As said above, any modern rifle and decent scope should get you to the 600 yrd range pretty easy. Here is my shorty bolt gun.

I recently bought a S&W 1911 with a 3" Barrel. I am usually a springfield guy but after holding the smith I loved it. I have only shot about 200 rounds through it but I love it with 0 malfunctions so far. Sweet, fun shooting little gun thats for sure.

You cannot go wrong with the Springfield Champions! They have the 4'' barrel, extremely easy to take down, and I have never had a hiccup with one! they are extremely accurate, well built and a heck of a bang for you buck! Just my opinion, but check them out!
