My ears ring 24/7 thanks to 300 Win Mag and a 270 with a brake. No ear protection. Loud guitar played a big role too, but loud rifles and no hearing protection are the primary culprit.

I can't think of anything a 10mm will do that a .45 will not accomplish. If you're a ballistic data geek you might prefer the 10mm, but for real world applications a .45 will do anything a 10mm will do.

I'm a 1911 guy, but I think the Springfield XD's are excellent. I have a 45 and a 9mm.

Same here. I clean it the best I can and shoot it, if it stops functioning I'll take it apart again or take it to a smith. I took it apart once and that was enough to know I wasn't going to be breaking it down again unless I had to.

Spot on, but the 41 million internet threads and heated arguments about bear defense guns and loads would have you believe it's an existential threat.

I don't particularly like shooting any magnum revolver more than a few times.

I've never really thought about it. If the gun gets wet I dry it off, never had a rust issue.
