Iconic 30 Caliber semi auto rifle

Ammo is expensive but not hard to find, At least not here in WI. There are usually several boxes in the bigger/true gunshops. Have fun! I have grandpa's and it has a detachable mag. Just hope it never gets lost!

best hunting rifle to use open sights on?

Either a lever or the Ruger GSR Anyone else with me on trying to get ruger to put the GSRs out in standard length cartridges? I've been bugging them since the day they introduced it! Please help me out!

    Great Cartridges But NOt Popular

I've been salivating over the .375 Ruger for the last 6 months or so.

    Thinking about a new rifle

Out of the guns in the poll, the Winchester is by far the best carrying gun. Great on deer for most folks shootin' ranges and plenty for those two legged turkey shots. To me nothing beats the Winchester 94. But, as others have said, over penetration will be a consideration in the house...

    Shiloh Sharps .45-70 worth it?

Just passed through. I recently drove through Big Timber and stopped at Shilo and C. Sharps for tours. Both were pleasant experiences, and both make decent rifles. But I must say that Shilo makes the finest rifle I've ever held (I don't hold those European doubles though). Shilos are worth...

    Gift Shotgun

New suggestions. Guess I've got another gun to take a look at when I'm at the store.

    Gift Shotgun

Thanks I appreciate your ideas. I like the pump, less moving parts... But that Stoeger action should be fantastic. Anyone have one? Mr T you should ask your buddy to borrow it. I really like the size of the gun compared to the Benelli. It is slim. And of course it's and auto. I've...

    Gift Shotgun

My max price is $625 (one months rent for the Lake House). I do love the Nova it is my primary shotgun and I have watched my Dad shoot geese repeatedly at over 100yrds with some 3.5" TT shot. And I can hold those cheap Remington slugs on a 6 inch gong at 100yrds with mine. The Nova sure is an...

    Gift Shotgun

A buddy took some time off of work to help me put a roof on my lake house. It was a blast and he expects nothing for it. However, he doesn't have a shotgun, I have been blessed to be able buy him one now a few months later, and for the first time in 11 very long years I will be moving close...

    Best 12ga for EVERYTHING

Another suggestion. I mentioned the 870 ET. Very nice gun for anything but goose. At least the one i shot. But if I were to buy one gun, price were no factor, i would but an auto benelli, maybe the new vinci when they have 3.5 (maybe they do already). for all your purposes, I would just get...

    Best 12ga for EVERYTHING

870 Express Tactical... I don't own one, but had my buddy's for a couple months. It had high capacity for defense. It's short, well balanced, and quick like lightening. Upland birds, duck, deer no problem. Geese, well I don't know, never tried it. If Remington would start making quality...

    Best Value Hunting Rifle

I personally love the .270 Win, but i have to agree that you will not like the recoil if you don't like the 30-06. If you want elk and pronhorn, i'd say .270 Win. Cheap ammo and plenty of gun. Bigger than 30-06 and 270 and you start blowing bits and pieces from Msp to Green Bay. I hunt...

    Ruger SP101 8-Shot 22lr

Well of course. There are two reasons to have a .22LR pistol. And one trumps the other so those should be the design specs, according to fletchbutt152. Target practice is one reason, but a 4" barrel just doesn't cut it if you want to be accurate. The other reason is to put meat in the pot...

    Ruger SP101 8-Shot 22lr

    Diddo the chincy plastic sight.

    Ruger SP101 8-Shot 22lr

This is BS. Why can't any gun designer get it right. This gun should have been with a six inch barrel or better and a full lug like the other sp101s. Not only that but the should make on like I describe in .327. I know they have a gp100, but i like the trimness if the sp101 (better carry)...

Browning BAR Owners - ammo input needed

I'm a little too late. I've got a few rifles and shotguns I've taken hunting and would you know the only guns I've been successful with on deer are BARs. I do my Whitetail hunting in Northern Wisconsin. The colors are better there doncha know (Green and Gold) as are the trophies (Lombardi...

How do you guys feel about Michele Bachmann in relation to the Second Amendment?

Ron Paul Is a nutjob. I happen to agree with most of domestic agenda. He has one slightly giant flaw. He has no concept of foreign policy. The obe job the federal government is actually supposed the do, he knows nothing about. Can't vote for him. Nkt that the others are that good of...

    Best pump shotgun out there.

Benelli Nova I own a few of these. Easiest pump I have ever had to take apart and clean. The forearm is a little thick though very functional. I must say if I can find an 870 Express Tactical whose sights actually line up, I will be buying one. I love the way it feels in my hands.

I love revolvers and I'm young

Oh the Revolver... I've had a few 6 shooters and am fairly young. Nothing like walkin' around the house with some tuned SAAs goin' clickityclack. The wif-e gets a little annoyed, but that is kinda fun too. I really like being able to practice at different objects in the house and the...

The case for a .22 plinker...

There is a case for one. I'm very close to buying another .22 pistol. I bought a Heritage for 35 bucks out of pocket (had gift certificates to Academy Sports) about 6 years ago. What a gun. The blueing (if you can call it that) is coming off the barrel (I wore it in a holster a quite a bit)...
