I have the 14" 30-30 barrel in my Contender handgun. I use 125 Nosler BT's on deer and it is very, VERY effective! Also, just SUPER accurate as in under 1" at 100 yards from a good rest.
I have a 9mm 1911 my local smith built for me. Caspian slide, frame, Cart barrel, Ed Brown small parts. COMPLETELY reliable, accurate and a really fun gun to shoot. You can shoot it A LOT and not tire from it in a range session-I tire after my .45's after a while and lots of shooting.
If it...
I recently bought one in .44 mag. After about 100 rounds, the extractor broke. It is an MIM part. Rossi will not sell one to replace it-a 'restricted' item they say. Said send it in, but they were busy and wait time will be 6-8 weeks they say. Haven't done anything yet.
I have two, one in .45 and one in .40. I love the things-great for CCW and WAY better shooters than they have a right to be. NEVER a bobble with either one.
I have the GP 100 in .44 special with the 3" barrel. Love the thing! Super accurate and can stand some pretty hot .44 special loadings. Super fun to shoot with standard loads though. Have not hunted with it tho.
I found and bought for cheap! It is a S&W model 36-no dash with the old flat latch and was made in 1961 me thinks. It is perfect mechanically but cosmetically challenged, not abused. Had Herrett's stocks on it, also well worn-with the paper sticker still inside.
I MAY redo the stocks in the...
I have one and love it! 100% reliable, more accurate than one could expect. EASY to carry! I did have a very small shotgun bead installed in the trench at the nose-NOT for a sight but as an 'eye catcher' to speed up things a bit. Unique little 1911 and if you learn its quirks, a fine carry gun.
I have the same gun. I'd give it a GOOD cleaning, light lubing and shoot the heck out of it with GOOD QUALITY ammo to get all broken in. Be SURE to hold it very solidly when shooting it-limp wristing is not good in a semiauto. THEN if it has problems, try to track them down. Likely won't...
