I think FN likes heavy trigger pulls. The FN FAL also has a horrible trigger pull.
Easiest fix for the hammer bite (on the spur hammer) is to grind / dremmel a smidge off the rear of the hammer....
Like GunnyUSMC, I hate the jointed trigger on S&W M&P, Shield, and SD9's.
I gave my Brother In-Law a 9mm Shield because of that awful trigger....
Used guns = the best budget friendly guns, IMHO.
Used Rugers and S&W autos = the least expensive.

Really no point in getting the Stoeger STR-9 and not having the Glock Mag compatibility.
Doubt you'll find one for under $400. They got popular in the last 10 years.
