Is there a guaranteed cure for the "Marlin jam" in 1894 models?

I thought I would provide an update and closeout on this issue. The good news is that there is nothing inherently wrong with the gun. Turns out that it's an ammo issue, as some of you had surmised. I took the gun to the range today with about five different brands of ammo, and did some cycling...

Is there a guaranteed cure for the "Marlin jam" in 1894 models?

It's a JM Marlin built in 2008, according to the S/N. The jam occurs AFTER the bullet part of the cartridge has entered the chamber. It almost looks like the edge of the cartridge is catching on the edge of the chamber.

Is there a guaranteed cure for the "Marlin jam" in 1894 models?

Thanks all. I took 3Crows' advice and tried some dummy rounds that I have. I have three types: two of them have blunt ends and look like 12 gauge dummy rounds. The third type are the cheap orange plastic dummy rounds that look like an entire cartridge, with a round nose bullet. Well, all three...

Is there a guaranteed cure for the "Marlin jam" in 1894 models?

Thanks. I only shoot truncated bullets (.38 spl FMJ or JHP), because that's all I have. Not sure if round-nose bullets would work better or not.

Is there a guaranteed cure for the "Marlin jam" in 1894 models?

Thanks all. Just to be clear, I am not getting double feeds. When I mentioned "double-clutching," I meant that the bullet jams going into the chamber, so you have to work the lever a second time ("double clutch") to get it to chamber. I didn't mean that two cartridges feed at once.

Is there a guaranteed cure for the "Marlin jam" in 1894 models?

I have a Marlin 1894C (.357/.38) that has the "Marlin jam" or a feeding problem, whatever you want to call it. I shoot it so rarely, I can't remember if it's always been this way, or recently developed the issue. I only shoot factory-loaded truncated bullets (that's the ammo I have), not...

    The inevitable bump stock question

Update: I received an email from Slidefire a few days ago as follows: "American Bumpstock Company is SLIDE FIRE. In the coming days our website will be rebranded back to SLIDE FIRE. We opened ABC during the 5th/6th Circuit ruling to keep SLIDE FIRE out of the limelight anticipating the SCOTUS...

    The inevitable bump stock question

Thanks all for your input. I may wait on this. I thought it over some more, and while it would be fun to have one, I am thinking it would be one of those toys you use once or twice, and then it mainly sits in the safe. I'd rather spend the money on something I will use and enjoy on a regular...

    The inevitable bump stock question

Thanks. Of the three you gave me, only RW actually (supposedly) has them in stock. I wrote to RW to find out more detail. They have some for sale on their website, but Slide Fire went out of business in 2018, so I am confused as to how they have any at all, if they are indeed Slide Fire bump...

    The inevitable bump stock question

Now that they are no longer illegal or banned, I am thinking of getting a bump stock for my AR, strictly for fun. I've only found one website that supposedly has any (bumpstock.com) and I am having trouble finding out if that site is legit or not. (Let me know if you have any info on them.) I...

AR15: Commercial vs. Milspec buffer tube - Question

I'm starting from scratch; the receiver I am putting this on had an A2 stock, so either way, I need a carbine buffer tube. As for the sling, the RRA stock has a slot for a sling, but I honestly don't use a sling anyway. I don't do a lot of "running and gunning." And if I do, the sling mounts...

AR15: Commercial vs. Milspec buffer tube - Question

All - Closing this out with what I decided. I went with the Commercial version. That will put me at $140 delivered; RRA is offering free shipping this month, and they don't tax for my state. My reasons: 1) Consistency: My other AR has the same stock on a Comm tube, so this way, on the...

Glock OEM threaded barrel for Glock 19 - Gen 5 vs. Gen 3 - Question

Thanks. Actually my plan, if I do get a suppressor, is to be able to use it on both my G19 and my Ruger PC Carbine 9mm. Both just for fun.

AR15: Commercial vs. Milspec buffer tube - Question

Pretty sure that is not correct, from what I have read and heard. And I just called RRA and gave them my S/Ns, and they said my receivers can use either tube. I know there are minor differences in the two thread structures, but I do not want to get into that. Remember, my question is strictly...

AR15: Commercial vs. Milspec buffer tube - Question

I need a common sense answer to this question, so I come to THR. I don't want to get too much into the weeds with tensile strength, type of aluminum alloy, etc. I'm going to get a RRA Operator stock for my AR. I have one on my other AR and really like it. RRA gives two options (they only sell...

Glock OEM threaded barrel for Glock 19 - Gen 5 vs. Gen 3 - Question

drobs - Thinking about getting a suppressor, just for fun. (No definite decision yet.) Since I have both a G19 Gen 3 and G19 Gen 5, I thought it might be cost-effective if I could buy one threaded barrel to fit both, in case I want to swap the suppressor back and forth. That was the purpose of...

Glock OEM threaded barrel for Glock 19 - Gen 5 vs. Gen 3 - Question

drobs - Never heard that before, but it doesn't mean you are wrong. Can you explain why it's better to use the same barrel/suppressor combination from the same manufacturer, vs. using a Glock OEM threaded barrel and a suppressor from whatever other company. After all, I would think that if a...

Glock OEM threaded barrel for Glock 19 - Gen 5 vs. Gen 3 - Question

What about the Gen 4 barrel (in case it's cheaper) - Will it work in the Gen 5?

Glock OEM threaded barrel for Glock 19 - Gen 5 vs. Gen 3 - Question

Thanks Bravo, and not doubting you, but this goes back to my original question: Why then does Glock offer a Gen 4 and a Gen 5 barrel for the G19? And which one should I buy to use in both my Gen 3 and Gen 5 G19? I am going to call Glock on Monday, but still want to hear thoughts.

Glock OEM threaded barrel for Glock 19 - Gen 5 vs. Gen 3 - Question

If they are interchangeable, and function and reliability are not affected, that is all I care about, and that is all I am asking about. I am not concerned about minute differences that have no impact on function or reliability. Sorry if that was not clear in my original post.
