I don't have this gun, but a relative does and I know absolutely nothing about these. Well..I do know the -CA meant it was once a California gun with a 10rd mag. My brother-in-law needs a mag for his. Can someone point me to one? I think I saw a 12rd mag but wasn't sure if Jennings did...
500 and 600? Yikes. I've had well over that in my custom STI 2011...very good fitment and no issues. Runs great. I'd expect 1K or more out of a quality handgun. Guess I need to run my Nighthawk and Wilson to failure and see.
Nothing illegal but don't expect a good response. Those nice guns that show up aren't turned in by someone that knows the value or what they are. I expect those same types of people would also feel very uneasy selling them to you or going through the hassle of meeting someone they don't know...
I don't like gun buybacks or turnins either...but no one is being forced to do it. Someone doesn't want a gun and this is a way they can turn it in with no hassle or worry about legalities. If they go to a well-meaning non-LE group they really don't know if it's right or wrong. You have to...
When I used to fly a lot through Atlanta they would ALWAYS pull my bag after detecting explosives. It added about 5 mins to security...they'd pull it and wipe it down, then check the wipe. I always figured it was residue from shooting.
You answered your own question. They have lower prices than even online..yet you want them to absorb another 3%. It's not a myth, taking a CC does cost them a percentage. So either bring bash or pay the extra. I used to own a retail store and hated taking Amex... Plus, most of these gun...
This is a great conversation...20 years ago. Get over it people. Poly framed handguns are very tough or we'd be seeing Glocks with cracked frames everywhere. It's lighter and far easier to shape..plus cheaper. If you don't like the feel (like my wife) that's fine..but questioning strength or...
I have some thumbhole AKs that I'd never convert. To me a lot of the converted AKs lose the style or history or whatever it is from the original country. Go look at a nice Hungarian SA-85M or even an original thumbhole Romanian. Quality is far above what we see come in now. Even the MAK-90...
Sometimes it's fad..sometimes it's just that new product/technologies hit the market. New brands with better quality hit so people move that way. A lot of AR owners own multiple guns..so it's not a fad...it's just adding new variations. You couldn't buy a good piston two years ago..now there...
What do they do on their bolt to try and reduce carrier tilt? There are lots of little things that go in to the piston system that can be patented. I saw that the new Sig piston AR-15 used a direct copy of the LWRC bolt and LWRC wasn't real happy, as they had a patent on it.
Don't think anyone said they did, but they have their own system which can be patented, just like others (if dis-similar enough). Their bolts are different than say an LMT. If you do a direct copy you'll hear from them.
Or you can hire a company that does that as a business...like these shows do. If you have the money they'll let you use one for a TV show too. It's not like they hand you the Dillon and wish you a nice day. Very controlled situation. You just don't see it on TV.
