I cannot stay away from moon clip guns, it seems.

Yep, I like-a da moon clips, too. I should not have let this .45 ACP Mountain Gun get away, and now have some hope that perhaps a .45 ACP variant will be forthcoming in the revived MG lineup. The Jeffrey Gunleather “Moon Pockets” in the background of this shot made carrying spare clips so...

    627 vs. Lipsey's Mountain Gun in .357

I’m a sucker for the 627 Pro Series. I owned one several years ago and wish I’d not let it go. I prefer N-frames like that but I’m also quite interested in the latest MG offerings, particularly in .357.

Anyone talking about this? New S&W Model 20 Heavy Duty style .357

Yep, I spied one at a local show and posted about it at the time… https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/new-s-w-heavy-duty.929100/#post-12864784 I remain intrigued but, as stated by other members, it would be nice for the lock to go away (as S&W has now demonstrated it’s willing and...

    629 5” Cleaned Up! U SO HOTT!

Love it! I don’t think one can go too terribly wrong with either Inspector Callahan, his trademark Model 29, .the 44 Magnum round (or .44 Special, for that matter), or a five-inch barreled N-frame at all. Not a 29 and not a .44 here, but a five-inch 27 for supporting documentation haha…

    Prvi Partizan 38 Special

Argh - just purchased two boxes of their 158-grain SWC HPs. Will proceed with caution. Thank you for this report.

Gun Show Musings and a Very Specific Revolver-Oriented Twist

It definitely wasn’t the scope of show I remember from my youth. That, and I was a) in a bit of a time-crunch and b) really only stopping at tables with revolvers haha…

Gun Show Musings and a Very Specific Revolver-Oriented Twist

I had a couple of interesting experiences at a local gun show recently that I thought might make some of the folks here smile. I posted this earlier on another site chock-full of revolver-folk so this might be a retread for some of you. Gun shows were a favorite destination of mine as a kid...

If you could only have ONE and I mean ONE 4 inch double action revolver.. what would it be?

The Model 28 has gotten a couple of votes already - I’d say my 28-2 would be my choice. Quite portable and concealable for me with a good belt and the right holster.

    45acp revolver

I had a S&W Model 625 Mountain Gun in .45ACP - as I just lamented in a separate post, I wish I’d held onto it! I had a pile of moonclips from Wilson Combat, of all places, and a demooner tool from a company I don’t recall off-hand. I carried the gun in a Barranti Leather Co. Summer Classic...

    Speed strips

@.38 Special you may have already tried this product in your moonclip experimentation - when I was carrying a 625 Mountain Gun in .45ACP (a gun I do wish I’d retained!), a contact on another forum told me about “Moon Pouches” from Jeffrey Custom Leather. For me, these things went a long way...

    Speed strips

I carry a mix of speed strips and 2x2x2 pouches. I will sometimes pack along a speedloader in a jacket or vest pocket when available. A pal from another forum has crafted a speedloader carrier of his own design that I’ll be checking out soon.

    Fresh Barranti for a S&W N-Frame

An already fine day is only made finer with the arrival of awaited custom gunleather, in this case a Hank Sloan from Barranti Leather Co. sized for a 3-1/2”-barreled S&W “pre-27” .357 Magnum. Wanted to get some pics of the holster before it begins seeing use. Pardon any mussing of the gun as...

    Carry Concealment

When I regularly carried a full-size 1911, the Milt Sparks Roadrunner (aka “Old-Style 60TK”) pancake-style OWB worked for me under a t-shirt. I typically wore another shirt (A-shirt / “wife-beater”) underneath. The Roadrunner has a high-riding, forward-canted stance that makes it...
