It's not easy being a caveman...

From the OP: "primer popping out of the stem or in the seater stem sideways"... You need to torque down the seater cup in the stem.

    What did you shoot today?

Rained pretty hard this AM so I stayed in the house and launched a few Beeman "rounds" (.177 round balls) with the Feinwerkbau gas pistol.

Best approach to lighten recoil spring pressure

According to the internet, the 85 is a blowback .380. Assuming your neighbor is getting good reliability with the ammo he's using, going to a lighter slide return spring would require shooting a pipsqueak load. That would be a dumb idea. (Trust me, I am an expert at dumb ideas.) Instead, tell...

357 lever action rough on brass

Are these reloads? It looks like the case rim (as opposed to its body) is catching on what looks like the extractor, or the barrel itself, during feeding. Maybe the case needs a heavier crimp? Also (update) I'm puzzled about the bends in the upper part of the pic. You say this is a 357... I...

357 lever action rough on brass

I see the case mouth has been distorted, but no evidence of shaving... unless you're referring to the color on the breech. But no shaving. You might mark a case head and load it indexed with the mark up or down, and then we'd have a better idea where in the cycle the mouth is getting bent...

    Rust removal

I meant to add, before you do anything, check out Mark Novak's Youtube videos ("Anvil" channel). He's done several beater guns by boiling them. I've tried it (on rusty boat parts, not a gun) and I swear by the hair of Trump, it actually worked!

Don't know about chemicals, but instead of steel wool use this stuff, which won't harm whatever bluing is left (I promise): https://the4570book.com/shop/ols/products/stainless-ribbon-steel-cleaning-pad

    Looking for a gun store...

...in the Jacksonville Florida area. I'm new in the area and haven't found much of interest. There's a shop on University Ave that carries a small selection of smokeless powders (no black, apparently) but that's about it. Nothing else for reloaders. Not many places to shoot either, except a...

Smith & Wesson Model 10 photo explanation

Just noticed this thread. My guess: load your revolver and then shake it back and forth. You will hear a rattle as the cartridges slide within their chambers. There must be just enough headspace slop to allow the motion. Then, upon firing, the case head slaps against the recoil shield, and...

NICE wood on an Ithaca 37!

Until a month ago I was only an hour from KTP and shopped there many times. If you're from New Hampshire and you buy a gun at KTP, they will carry it to a little hut they have across the Piscataqua and you can take delivery there; this avoids paying Maine sales tax. Saved me a few dollars...

No of course not. That's what wives are for (well, and sammiches too).
