This is what I did. I had measured the chamber diameter an earlier 870 Wingmaster which ran any ammo through it. The chamber was .001" larger in diameter then the 870 Express I just bought. Ran a brake hone and then steel wool and the problem went away.

I have the same shotgun The 870 you have will only hold 6 rounds. I have the same gun, but with the REM choke which extends the length of the barrel. I have already placed a 3 round extension for a total of 7 in the tube and 1 in the chamber. You have a great shotgun.
