Yup, guess it is... I'm "lucky", as you say, because I have a garden variety Mossberg 500 I got on the cheap because it was used? Dude, there are deals like that all over the place. Did you miss the part where I said a NEW Mossy 500 is just over $200? You know, CHEAPER than that...

the ''only'' guns you actually need....

Kind of clumsy to use/carry in the car, too. ;)

Most families can knock off the drinking, smoking, snacks/Cokes at work, eating out, movie/game rentals, lottery tickets, whatever "frivolous" type expenditures for a month or two, stash that cash and be able to afford a NICE defensive pistol or other firearm. Someone who can "afford" a Kel-Tec...

Around the house, where do you keep weapons.

Yeah, pocket carrying that Kahr PM9 around like I do every day is SOOO heavy. My back hurts just thinking about it. Paranoid? Puh-leeze.... It's called CONVENIENT.

What can't be had in CT?

+1 N003k kimbershot is a HUGE problem as to why things are the way they are with firearms, especially in CT. They just roll over and LET things remain taken away from them because they FEEL those things aren't necessary so, therefore, YOU don't need them, either. I'll bet he doesn't have a...

the ''only'' guns you actually need....

Why? You'd take a two shot SXS over a 6+ shot pump? And don't even begin to talk about "reliability issues". My Mossy 500 is well over 20 years old and has NEVER had any issues. In fact, I just detail stripped it fully after about 10 years and everything still looks new inside.

the ''only'' guns you actually need....

A good handgun is a "nice want", LaVere? Yeah, because it's so easy to carry that shotgun around all day, right? Guess you never have to worry about concealment issues, either.

What can't be had in CT?

Nope, a fore grip and rail system are fine. They are not listed in the "evil features" that define an assault rifle. Beware of a fore grip on a pistol, though. Yup, CT made me love my old trusty, dusty SKS even more. So much so that I brought it back last Christmas from home in Arizona. ;)

What, nobody reads the awesome Kel-Tec forum, KTOG.org?

Anyone recently received their CWP in Florida?

Yeah, IF you can get through. I tried calling several times about my first fingerprint card and it was always either busy or just rang and rang. Had better luck with email. Very slow, but at least they responded.

BUGUDY, I'd rethink that SKS. It's a dead nuts reliable and reasonably powerful rifle. And it's in 7.62, sharing ammo commonality with the AK-47. Supposed to be more accurate than a 47, too. I love my $89 SKS I bought almost 20 years ago.

What can't be had in CT?

Hello, I'm in CT and have EXTENSIVELY researched this. And, it's not that hard if you read the danged stuff. If it is a PRE-ban rifle, you can have any accessory/attachment you want. If it is a POST-ban, then you can only have ONE "evil feature", such as a pistol grip, collapsible stock...

What other forums do you read?

Defensive Carry and TFL. Check in on Glocktalk and AR15.com once in a while, but not like I used to since they've become such complete clown shows.

Anyone recently received their CWP in Florida?

Along with Florida, I have to give huge props to Arizona as well. It took NINE whole days from the time I dropped my renewal in the mail to actually having my new permit in hand. Over a three day weekend...from Connecticut to AZ and back. Now, that's service!

Anyone recently received their CWP in Florida?

Not for SFB and myself, both an initial and renewal application respectively. ;)
