    First LEO encounter while carrying.

We need more encounters like this, so the LEO community in general can see we're not a bunch of crazy cooks. Glad it was a positive experience. The LEO community in general is on your side and does not think we're a bunch of crazy "cooks", despite what some around here would have you believe.

    Domestic Violence?

tcsd thanks for the explanation. I thought the federal stuff only applied if an order of protection was in effect. Interesting information.

    Domestic Violence?

I don't see where he would automatically lose his firearms rights. Granted, I don't know the laws of Michigan or the specifics of Federal laws re: Domestic Violence, but I thought in many states you did not lose rights to firearms unless convicted of a felony. Like I said, I don't know Mich...

Millions of Americans Don't Pay Federal Taxes

Can I detour this slightly? If certain states are taxed more than they spend (i.e. New Jersey), how do the Feds decide how the surplus is allocated? In other words, how do they decide how much WV gets, or Alabama, etc.?

    Fears Rise over Homegrown Terrorists

Some of those "Sovereign citizen" nutjobs can be dangerous, but most of them are harmless. Idiots, but harmless. To hear the media tell it, the homegrown types are all around us just waiting for the right opportunity. I don't think they are as prevalent as the newspaper would lead us to believe.

    Why don't WE use RPGs?

About the kill ratios: Marines Use Low-Tech Skills to Kill 100 in Urban Battle With no Marines killed Note some of the tactics used by the Marines. You can rest assured these guys are kicking ass and taking names, regardless of what the lib news says otherwise. And my favorite quote...

    FALLUJAH,a sniper's dream

I've always heard the first group of fatbodies pictured above referred to as the Fast Action Response Team (F.A.R.T.) Here's a good pic I ran across last night: Might be the same Marine referenced in the article, since the official caption for this photo says "A U.S. Marine Corps...

Millions of Americans Don't Pay Federal Taxes

I'm curious as to why someone would refer to a network as "Faux News" yet rely on its' stories to support their position.

    Knob Creek, who's going?

Just got back. Pretty good time as usual. Didn't notice till just now some of the hyper reaction (ahem Bogie ) to me suggesting you don't bring loaded guns in. Was just trying to let some of you know who hadn't been before, knowing how some people are about carrying their weapons everywhere.

    Knob Creek, who's going?

I've not been in about 4 years, but I'll be there this Saturday. I don't mean to piss in anyone's cornflakes, but it seems like the last time I was there they weren't allowing any loaded weapons in except for the class 3 guys on the line. Anyone know for sure one way or another?

Looks llike the 5th Circuit is as wacky as the 9th...

As far as "improperly seized evidence" goes, if it was in plain view, it is not improperly seized and would not be subject to suppression. If I'm not mistaken, this wasn't even an issue in the case in point. jimpeel: You forget that every law will always be taken to its furthest and...

Looks llike the 5th Circuit is as wacky as the 9th...

An unfortunate oversight in the constitution, IMO. The 4th Amendment should be treated as if the word "unreasonable" did not appear in it. This kind of thinking is more dangerous than any court ruling, because the writer is suggesting that we should snip words out of the constitution to...

    Firearm of choice for P.O.s

My agency just went from a S&W 10mm to the Glock 35. Glock 27 for ankle gun. Really starting to love the 35. Liked the 10mm as well, bought mine rather than turn it in, but I think I already like the 35 better.

Armed hide in Ozark forest, had not one, but TWO bunkers of weapons!

Ooooo, 'military-type gear', and the police in this situation followed the typical alarming trend Yes, to ram the bunker suspected of harboring 2 armed felons rather than walk up like Andy Griffith:rolleyes:

There are times in weapon retention techniques where you strike the subject in the head/face area with the weapon.

    I was chased tonight

Just a note about the pepper foam someone mentioned earlier. There is a possibility that the suspect can wipe the foam off and sling it back at you before it starts to take effect on him. Not likely, but something to consider. I prefer the regular spray for this reason.
