My "hot" handloads (hard cast) that I shoot in my blackhawk showed signs of overpressure in my marlin 94. I think the chamber in the marlin is tighter . . . .
I'll have to back them down a bit and work up a load that works best for the marlin . . .
The first gun I ever shot. I think grandpa got it in the early 40's. Then it was Dad's and now sits in my gun safe (along with my model 97 12 guage (1911 born date) that was the first shotgun I ever shot and also handed down to me.) I remember when dad taught me how to shoot . . . he used to...
I got a lot of little plastic zip lock bags about 4"x4". Each bag will hold 30ea. .223/5.56. Then toss them into my ammo can. The bag provides a little padding and I've got one full mag worth in each bag, so when reloading the mags, it's one bag each. Just grab a bag and load . . . and the...
Well . . . I bought some used .308 military brass to reload. I've got a Primer Pocket Reamer tool to remove the crimp and a Primer Pocket Uniformer tool.
I thought I was all set to go . . . . BUT . . . . I'm having a problem getting the primers out of the cases. In about one of four cases, my...
I've got a 511 . . . which is basically the same gun only clip fed instead of the tubular magazine. Here is a link to a manual: http://stevespages.com/pdf/remington_512.pdf
Here are a couple of Savage manuals . . . .

I live in Anchorage and was looking for a Marlin 45-70 Guide Model (the short barrel) a couple of days ago and found nearly every gun store I went to had them . . . I was price comparing . . . around $695 for the stainless and $615 for blued . . . .
I've not been pleased with Power Pistol . . . Just can't seem to find a consistant load with it . . .
I prefer to use: Unique, Bullseye, W 231, and True Blue. I've been able to work excellent loads using various types of bullets with these powders. Just can't find a combination that works...
I just bought me a new toy: AR-15 . . . .I’ve lots of experience loading 44 Mag and 45 ACP, but the .223 will be a whole new ballgame. I use a single stage press and load primarily for target, plinking and defense. I understand that I’ll have to trim cases and lube them for full length...
OK . . . I'm thinking about getting an AR, and would just like some opinions. . . . I don't want to hunt moose with it . . . Just thinking a gun to shoot for fun, and to use for self defense or if the SHTF. I've owned hunting rifles and know that there are better calibers and rifles for that...
True Blue meters very well . . . so it's easy to use. I use 6.9gr to push Berry's plated 185gr HBRN bullets and 7.4gr for 230gr FMJ RN. Both loads are very accurate.
I got a S&W 1911 PD (Commander Size). Already have a Para 14-45, so I wanted something easier to carry. I'm satisfied with it so far. Just wish we had an indoor range somewhere . . . it's been really nasty weather lately and I've only managed to get out once to Birchwood so far.
I use Birchwood Casey Lead Remover & Polishing Cloth . . . it does an outstanding job and I use it regularly for removing rust, lead, copper, and other types of fouling. Just cut patch size pieces and work thru the barrel several times using a tight fitting jag. Here is what the package says...
When I was a kid of 12 or so . . . The neighbor kid and I were shooting mice in his barn with 22 shorts. We heard a mouse in a wall . . . so he shot at it and heard a nice little thump as it fell inside the wall. A little later, when we were outside . . . we discovered that the 22 short had...
