In some states is it required that a defendant takes the stand to prove a self defense claim or does the 5th Amendment protection come into play?

    SKS ID Help?

The butt doesn't have any serial numbers stamped in it. It has a little circular spring loaded trap door about the size of a nickel.

    SKS ID Help?

Here is an update. There are serial numbers on the receiver, magazine and trigger guard. They all match as well. I was having trouble seeing some of them, but got enough people looking at it to verify that they all match.

    SKS ID Help?

I have 3 SKS rifles bought back in the early 90's.They are Norinco guns made in China. They have the cosmoline on them. None of the rifles have the bayonet, but have the "V" cut in the front of the stock, but do have a sling. The receiver has a triangle with the 26 inside. Also, they have a 4...

Sandy hook parents to sue Bushmaster

Bushy got sued after the DC sniper incident. They settled for $2.5 million. That was the first settlement of its kind ever. I understand the families are hurting. However, a suit like this wont stop it from happening again nor will it give them any kind of closure. I saw some of the...

Americans are buying fewer guns says Smith & Wesson

Let's pray the Republicans get some good horses in the race this time. Christie turning up as the front runner would sure look like another 8 year dog fight for our rights ahead as well as a totally screwed up market staying that way.

Americans are buying fewer guns says Smith & Wesson

Typically when laws are passed like that items that were manufactured before certain dates are grandfathered in. You don't see Norinco selling new arms over here anymore, but nobody had to turn the ones in that were already in circulation. Same thing for machine guns manufactured before Reagan...

Americans are buying fewer guns says Smith & Wesson

Another factor I was thinking about regarding the numbers on NICS checks would be guys like me. I am done buying new from FFL dealers. (No offense dealers) The gov has done too much spying and perpetrated way too many criminal acts against the people lately. That listening to our phone calls and...

Americans are buying fewer guns says Smith & Wesson

S&W doesn't appeal to me anymore. There revolvers are on the cheap now days compared to the older ones. I have seen their older models go through the roof on pricing according to what I have seen on the used market. $1000.00 for a 357 is quite common. I don't understand why people would pay it...

Already did , but wouldn't again. I wish I still had it.

    Sold on Ruger

I like a lot of their products. I am a big GP100 fan. Toughest revolvers on the planet. The 10/22 is iconic and every kid should own one. Their bolt guns are good guns, but I don't buy them. I don't buy their auto pistols except for the LCP I bought for my daughter to carry. I also do have a...

Guns in a bank safety deposit box

My bank has a "no open carry" sign on the door and that's it. I haven't asked if they don't want any guns in their branches. So I just assume the CC is fine ;) . I cashed a check at a bank one time that actually had a sign on the door claiming it was federal law that guns are not allowed...

    Hoppes number 9

I couldn't imagine it hurting plating or finish. Hoppes #9 has the same solvent qualities as cold tap water. I have always got bottles of it in cleaning kits and such, but fail to see it as a good gun cleaner. I have soaked parts in it for weeks on end and they were still filthy when they came...

Guns in a bank safety deposit box

Tactikel, the receiver is the gun by definition of law.

Guns in a bank safety deposit box

Federal law prohibits guns in banks. The state laws don't mean anything at this point. The fed law trumps it.
