    38 special FBI load

Howdy, I have come across some swaged lead 158g HP bullets and thought it would interesting to try some +P loads. These would be shot from a 2" snub S&W. I have Bullseye, Unique, and HP-38 on hand. Which powder would give the best performance at max load for a 2" barrel? Thanks, Marty

    .357 158g SWC with AA#9?

Howdy, Tried my first attempt of using magnum primers and powder in loading a 158g hard cast SWC sized to .358. From the 49th Lyman (it said Lee earlier...) Manual they had a 12.3 to 13.7 grains of powder listed for 160g cast bullet. My Lee Auto-Disk was dropping 12.4 grains so I tried this...

    Shooting a converted 38 S&W Victory model

I have a British 38 S&W Victory model that was converted to 38 Special. I was disappointed with shooting 38 special out of it and was wondering if anyone had any experience with shooting 38 S&W out of a converted one? Shooting 38 special out of it was a bit like the time I accidentally shot...

    Converted Victory model question

I have a S&W Victory model in British 38-200 that has had the cylinder reemed to accept 38 special. I know shooting 38 special is inaccurate in these guns and should be kept lower powered loads. Are there any issues shooting 38 S&W out of these guns? Thanks.

.38 Special wadcutters not cutting wads?

I have some wadcutters from a local caster that I have reloaded that are not cutting pure holes in paper. I have shot them anywhere from 7 to 25 yards, and what I get is just a huge hole in the paper. Looks like a .75 cal ball has gone through the paper. I can't tell if the bullet is key...

    Some newbie questions

Hello Everyone, I am interested in getting into reloading. I plan to start out loading .38 target loads, then maybe .380 and/or 9mm, and eventually some 30-30 for plinking... I am leaning toward getting a Lee Classic Single Stage. I noticed in the sticky that it was suggested that if you...

    SW Mod 14 price check

I am looking at a Model 14 on Tuesday. I am not sure yet, but it is probably a 14-3 or 14-4. It is either NIB or like new and has the manual and tools to boot. I think it has the stock trigger and hammer. What is a good ballpark for this? The seller is asking ~$500. Thanks!

    Ruger Speed Six?

Howdy, Found a Ruger Speed Six today for sale. It is a 160 prefix, stainless and 2 3/4 barrel. Action is good and smooth, and it locks up well. No scratches or dings. It looks to be needing a good cleaning. There looks to be very small rust pits on some of the lettering on the barrel...

Texas Castle Doctrine as it applies to automobiles?

Hi, Does anyone have any information on this? What I have found online seems extremely vague. I probably just need to go get my CHL so I don't have to worry about it... Thanks!

    SW Model 10 price check

Hi Folks, Long time reader (6 months or so anyway) and first time poster. I will likely get more active here as I have gotten revolver'itis... I am looking to pick up a snub. A local shop here has a 2" M10 pin barrel for $320. Looks to be in very good shape, but it has been...
