    Hermann Goering's handgun

You'd think he'd at least have some nice grips for it. Goring was easily the pimpest (pimping-est?) of all Nazi leaders.

    LEO handguns

They had. I think they sold out last week. I was thinking about getting one too. I guess I wasn't the only one.

Gun related news from the home land: Home made shotgun-revolver

Two points actually related to the gun: - Is that a rail I see on top? - If you're a criminal and you wanted to improvise a shotgun, why not just a double barreled shotgun? A one third of the firepower at one tenth of the complexity. This looks pretty nicely built, rounded edges and everything.

Gun related news from the home land: Home made shotgun-revolver

Like I tell my folks, "I don't like going to Chinatown, why would I want to go to a whole country like that?"

Strangest or most out of place gun seen at a CCW class?

Mike, wouldn't a Tokarev be technically smaller than .380?

Gun related news from the home land: Home made shotgun-revolver

Ah the old country. I've never been back, and I'm seeing less and less reasons to do so as time goes on.

They're still issued in the Phillipines. http://www.timawa.net/m3/m3gen2.htm

    Ugliest pistol ever made.

My GP100 is pretty. And I'm not just saying that because it's mine. And apparently, there is a link between the Baby Nambu and the Ruger MK I/II/III.

Why has no one remade the liberator?

There is no way I'd spend $600 for a *reproduction* of a pistol that only cost $26 (today's dollars) to be begin with. Now if someone made a NON-FIRING replica for say, less than a hundred, maybe. (Making it non-firing would make things so much easier.

    Ugliest pistol ever made.

Well, if you wanted to go on looks alone, you should've used a picture of the older Nambu without the enlarged trigger guard. A little off topic here, but other than the manual safety that I see, are there any other safety features on the Luger? Was it DAO?

Market for less expensive "snapcap" ?

The trouble with plastic ones is that the rims don't hold up if well if you're using them in an automatic. The extractor tears them up. I'd get them for my revolvers though.

Could you even carry all this stuff?

"You think you got enough?" "You can never have enough."

    Ugliest pistol ever made.

Two stick out in my mind: - Borchardt C-93. Ugly, and it looks like an ergnomic nightmare. - CZ-82. I've heard very good things about it, but it looks like a collection of mismatched parts.

    lokking at a makarov

I was looking at a P-64, but was a tad frightened by the crazy DA trigger pull that comes up in every review. Is there a way to fix it? And how does the P-64 compare to the P-83s that are coming onto the market?

    Military use of FMJ

"I also think it may do with the fact that soldiers would most likely be wearing body armor, and you'd need better penetration." When I suggested that they use it today for better penetration, I meant TODAY, not back then. As many have already suggested, there are legal, and practical reasons...

    Military use of FMJ

It's not the Geneva Convention, but rather the Hague Convention of 1899, Declaration III. http://avalon.law.yale.edu/19th_century/dec99-03.asp I also think it may do with the fact that soldiers would most likely be wearing body armor, and you'd need better penetration.

Loading Gates on the Right... Why?

I think the key here is the fact that you have to eject the spent shells first. I think they were describing how cavalry men were supposed to do it on Tales of the Gun or something, and you were supposed to hold the reins and the gun in your left hand as your ejected and loaded cartridges with...

What 22lr pistol with a top rail?

The Neos has a rail running down the whole length of the gun. If you're not planning on using optics, it makes the gun a little unbalanced, IMHO. Or maybe I'm just too accustomed to my Mark II.

I just wonder what the St. Gallen PD is upgrading to if they're trading in USPs.

    Revolvers in pop culture

As much as I liked Magnum Force, I was always bummed out by Harry's admission "It's a light Special. This size gun it gives you better control and less recoil than a .357 Magnum with wadcutters." Now it seems like he's overcompensating.
