    Best way to Clean brass

Ultrasonic Cleaning I do the ultrasonic cleaning method lately. It's very time consuming since it works best on small batches. It REALLY gets em clean though. For me, they come out almost like virgin brass inside and out. Chemicals (diluted vinegar/soap solution and BC brass cleaner) can be...

Show us a picture of your reloading bench

Put on a new Top Made this out of 3 layers of 3/4 plywood. Got the idea from one of these boards(maybe this one). The removable inserts allow for quick configuration changes. I have the load-testing mode, the high-rate production mode and the gun cleaning mode (no tools mounted). Now I just...

Collapsible Stocks - Is this normal?

Collapsible stocks I put a 6 position stock (not the expensive Mil-Spec type) on my M4gery. After shooting a standard A2 for several years, the play in the collapsible stock really annoyed me too. A suggestion from one of the gun boards (I forget which) was to stick a strip of the fuzzy side...

    Parkerizing an M1 Garand

Orion7 did a great job re-parkerizing a reciever for me some years ago. Came out a very nice dark gray (definitely not black) It matched my original finish barrel very well.

Calling all RCBS Pro 2000 Experts!

Parts arrived, but didn't fix it RCBS sent out a complete shellholder assembly priority mail (basically everything attached to the top of the ram). Unfortunately, it didn't change the alignment any. That means it's probably the ram itself. The customer service rep said the next step would be...

Calling all RCBS Pro 2000 Experts!

RCBS Customer Service Wow! They emailed me first thing this morning (CA time)! Called and talked to Brian Goff (very helpful). He hadn't seen anything like that with these presses before. They're sending me a replacement shellplate holder (the main part attached to the ram) to see if that...

Calling all RCBS Pro 2000 Experts!

I have and use several die plates. I first noticed the problem using a Hornady New Dimension seater that has a sliding support that goes over the neck of the case for seating. It was real obvious that things weren't lining up. I don't think either of the plates can be installed incorrectly...

Calling all RCBS Pro 2000 Experts!

Thanks Numinous. Tried reinstalling the shell plate already (I change calibers fairly often, too). I just took the top of the ram off (two cap screws). There's a little play in the holes, but not enough to give much rotation capability to speak of. You're probably right about the warranty...

Calling all RCBS Pro 2000 Experts!

I discovered while loading some 308 match loads the other night that my shell plate doesn't line up with the die plate! Looks like it's off by about 1/16"! Anyone know if this can be adjusted? I asked RCBS tonight by email on their website, but I probably won't see an answer for 3 business...

    What is this thing

Link to Fulton Armory Fulton Armory Look under M1 Garand or M1A parts and accessories. Toward the bottom of a rather large online catalog page. Don't think they have much for directions, they're only trying to sell 'em. The "0" indicates a new barrel with no appreciable wear. Over...

    Mark III vs. Neos

I like the looks of the Hunter models, but they're above your price point. I have a Mark II, so I'm biased toward them. Also, it seems a lot of folks that buy Mark IIIs are replacing the internals with Mark II components to eliminate the magazine safety. I'm also not real wild about the LCI...

Need price info on Colt 1911A1 US gov model

His picture of the left side looks like it has a partial boxed W.B. under the slide stop... John Holbrook(sp?) may be a good source of information for you. He's had a lot of these pistols pass through his hands over the years. Hangs out on the 1911 forum over at CSP (jouster.com)

    Several questions for Tuner

i'm not Tuner, but I just replaced my barrel bushing in my Springfield GI Mil-Spec with the EGW Angle-bored one. I bought the MGW first, based on the specs in the Brownell's catalog. The OD listed was right on and a good snug fit, but the ID was .584 instead of the .580 listed. That was the...

    Lee Loadmaster 45acp

There's a little projection near the top of the press where the plastic cap on the indexing rod is supposed to be turned slightly (don't remember which direction for sure I think clockwise, and I sold my LM so I can't check). Once it's turned at the top of the stroke, it will catch on an...
