Ok I just ordered a Centerpoint 6x24x50 scope and have read about a problem with some or the rings people get. What are the brands of rings that I can get that fit the factory installed bases?

I am looking at 2 different scopes, each have 1 in tube with either 40mm or 50mm. Th gun is a .17 HMR FVSS (basically flat round barrel) What are the lowest rings I could use for the 40 and the 50? Could I get away with medium rings on the 50? Low on the 40? Thanks

What are some good mil-dot scopes out there? I mostly will be killing rabbits etc with this gun. It really is for targets/small animals anyway. I want something that I can see clearly at 200 yards would a 4-16x be sufficient for that?

it seems like the reviews for the centerpoint are great. It looks like you can just hand adjust for elevation and it reliably returns to zero is that right? BSA seems like a crappy scope and has mixed reviews.

Remmington 700 I bought one in the .270 calibur at walmart for 477$ I put a leupold rifleman 4-12x scope on it. I was hitting within +-2 inches at 300 yards with rented sandbags at the range. I would recommend the remmington model 700 in any calibur.
