GP100 in 22lr - has anybody around here shot one?

For the prices they command there's no way I'd look at an GP100 over a good used Smith model 17 or 18.

3" 629 long enough for full length ejector?

There are definately 3" factory 629's out there floating around out there that pre-date the lock if thats' important to you. I think a good number of them were done in special runs for Lew Hortan.

    K frame from .38 special to .357M

Gunnie, In addition to being slightly dimensionally different in some areas, K Frames chambered for .357 also receive some extra metallurigcal magic (heat treat) to help deal with the higher pressures generated by the .357 magnum round. Buy a model 19 or model 13 and be happy :)

Ads from the past, Guns for Christmas !

What a great thread! I remember going to the neighborhood Holiday gas station in the mid '70s buying my first "real" gun with my dad after seeing a sale ad on TV during a Vikings game. It makes me smile just thinking about it.

    Carrying the Ruger Alaskan

If you like the Redhawk and want to try it for every day carry then by all means, have at it! With a good quality belt and holster it'll probably pack around OK, but I'd think the sheer bulk (read cylinder diameter) is going to end up being more than you want to deal with. Let us know how it...

    Most accurate 22 under $200

Most $90 Marlin model 60's you see in the used gun rack will shoot circles around guns costing much, much more including many bolt guns. Heck I think even the new ones are under 200 bucks.
