    Accurate/Quick 308

I have owned an FNH SCAR 17 for the past 3 months and put over 500 rounds through it. Highly accurate (with match ammo MOA), exceptionally soft recoil and very light (much more so than an AR10). Only two complaints; it is very expensive and magazines (I secured an extra at purchase making 2...

    Winchester 101 experiences

I am seriously considering the purchase of a new Winchester 101 Trap gun. Does anyone have experience with the new Belgium (FN) built models?

good price for used S&W 1911?

Bought my S&W 1911 in 2002, thousands of rounds and not one single failure of any kind, ever. The most reliable gun i ever bought. Terrific piece, but it with confidence.

    Keltec PF9

I've had my PF9 for 18 months or so. It was a ridiculously good bargain. $279 for an accurate and reliable CCW. I handload, I shoot cheap FMJ as well as my preferred carry load (Critical Defense). I have never had a failure, which frankly surprised me. Couple that with the best CS in the...

    New 1911 Owner

Let's see; a John Moses Browning designed 9MM; sounds like the Browning Hi Power to me. All of the goodness of the 1911, but built specifically for 9MM. Beautiful, fun to shoot and 13+1 rounds.

What would you do? Kimber CS

Makes me feel better about my $279 KelTec PF9 which has over 1,000 trouble free rounds through it.

Which .380 pocket pistol under $600 is best and why?

I have owned an LCP for over a year; unlike the KelTec and Walther .380's I've owned previously, I have never had a single failure of any kind, with any ammo, from ball to Critical Defense. Because of my frustrations with the other pistols, I have fired more rounds through the LCP than I...

How does the S & W Model 617 revolver compare to the new Taurus revolver in .22 LR

Last year I bought a Taurus Tracker because it was hundreds less than the S&W 617 and had a nice trigger. It failed out of the box; after 2-3 shots, the cylinder would jam. This was remarkable for a revolver, particularly a .22. My dealer took it back, I paid the difference and bought the...

    looking for new ccw

I owned a K9 (9MM) and wished I hadn't sold it. Great trigger, very accurate and really comfortable. They are very well made. Kahr's are expensive, but in my experience, they are worth it.

    Which pistol? (A real dilemma!)

Great post and an interesting dilemma. I am a John Moses Browning fan; the more I shoot the 1911, the more I appreciate how great a platform it is. Trigger, grip angle........ There is one pistol you didn't try (I have never seen one as a range rental) that I would seriously consider if I...

    Charter Arms Undercover question

I did purchase the Bridgeport made Undercover, serial # 117XXX. I am waiting to take it to the range. My inspection reveals a very well made and finished revolver; the metal work is excellent, as is the bluing. As others have mentioned, this is a revolver made by professional gunsmiths. I'm...

    Charter Arms Undercover question

To .32 Magnum and HP Shooter; thanks for you thoughtful comments; you both embody the spirit of THR site and I've learned a great deal. I'm going to purchase the Undercover.

    Charter Arms Undercover question

Thanks to all of you for your thoughtful responses. For those that have the older CA Undercovers, is there a particular bullet weight that these revolvers were calibrated for? Also; what are your thoughts on +P ammo through them? Also, which replacement grips would work?

    Charter Arms Undercover question

My local shop has a mint CA Undercover; Bridgeport made, serial # 117,000. I really like its size and the way it looks, with the exposed ejector rod. I know their cylinder locking system is different than S&W. The trigger is smooth, but just before it trips there is a light click, like...

    Ruger or Browning?

I have a Buckmark Target and a Ruger MkIII 22/45 (new version with removable grips). They're both terrific; Browning has a better trigger out of the box; Ruger more after market accessories. Frankly, if your into .22 pistols, you'll wind up with both eventually anyway, why not get them both now?

    GSG 1911 .22lr range report

I too would try new ammo. If that doesn't work, send back to ATI in Rochester, NY (the importer). I also have their MP9 clone in .22lr and had a problem with it; they had it back in three weeks fixed perfectly. They're a good outfit from what I can tell. Sorry to hear of your problem,

    GSG 1911 .22lr range report

Yesterday I was in my local shop and saw, for the first time, the GSG 1911. I asked to see it, put it in my hand, said I would buy it, then asked how much ($334). The reason was twofold; I had heard good things about it, and it simply felt "right', just like my S&W 1911. I love .22lr pistols...

    You only get one...

Browning Hi Power; 9mm. After the joy of shooting it in long range sessions, I would have the additional pleasure of being able to look at the most beautiful handgun ever made sitting on my bedside table each night.

    USMC Marksmanship Video

I'm out of the Marine Corps 25 years this month and miss it every day. What is so special and distinguishes USMC marksmanship training from the other services is the high level of skill imparted to all recruits; they are able to reproduce excellence decade after decade.
