    SKS cosmoline removal (Please help)

I haven't seen it mentioned yet, but, make sure to disassemble your bolt/firing pin to clean it exceptionally well. Cosmoline can get built up in the bolt, causing the firing pin to protude enough to give you uncontrolled slam fires. There should be instructions on the web somewhere for...

    Washington State Hoot and Shoot

I just know that one of these years this will be held on a weekend I am off. I work every other one, so it is a 50-50 chance. Of course I am batting .000 so far. bob

    Parker Hale?

It is probably a commercial Mauser action, probably a Santa Barbara action, but could be an FN. If it has the thumb cutout on the left hand side of the receiver is is a military Model 98 action. I believe the Parker Hale guns came with an adjustable trigger, a mediocre trigger at best. Most...

    M1A Club

Here is mine. It is a Springfield Armory IDF sniper. These actually have a fairly neat history. I did some research into it several years ago and posted on another forum. bob

I keep trying to get to this but something always comes up. Maybe this year I will blow off the annual pilgramage to MT for rafting and stay closer to home. bob

Military possiblilities in my future... hmmm

It depends oon time as a nurse up to this point. It could be an O1 with accelerated advancement to O2(as little as one year), or with enough experience possibly straight to O2. As he is only 24 y/o I don't see enough experience to go in as an O3. bob

Military possiblilities in my future... hmmm

Let's put the guns on the back burner for a while. If you go in the military as an officer and can do the 20 years, you will retire in your late 40's (maybe a little bit earlier). Be a hard charger and you will end up an O5, today the base pay for an O5 over 20 yrs is about 8K. You would get...

Washington State Walla Walla Valley Friends of NRA Dinner

Is the correct pricing on the grand prize raffle ticket really 1 for 10$ and 5 for 20$ ? Are you limiting the number of Grand Prize raffle tickets you sell to a set number? How can I just get some of the grand prize raffle tickets? thanks bob

This will keep you busy for a while

Dead links with at least one of them alerting my McAfee as to malware/spyware. I only clicked on 4 links and they were all dead. Whoever owns that site needs to do some maintenance on it. bob

    Shipping to Guam

It is a long gun, so you should be able to use USPS priority mail. Just add on a little insurance. If you have to use a FFL to send it, just have him send it the cheapest route and let the purchaser suck up the cost as part of the transaction. bob

    Shipping to Guam

Tom, I just talked to my FFL dealer about that very thing. He didn't see any problem with shipping to Guam as long as it goes to an FFL. All guns in Guam have to be registered. As was suggested, a call to the ATF will answer the question nicely. That is what my FFL plans on doing if I...

    This Is a Joke, Right?

The problem is maybe this bear wasn't doing anything other than walking across a field and someone (rancher, farmer, city boy) decided they would rather see it dead than posing a possible threat. If you are under attack, or feel that you may be harmed then I don't think any state will fault...

Checking for guns in unexpected places...

When I lived in Browning I went down there every 6 weeks or so. I called several times and was always told the same thing, just unload it and lock it up in a case while you are on base. If staying overnight, the weapon had to go to the armory. The lodge at Malmstrom is one of the best deals...

Different states have different rules on the hunting, and requirement of license, for non-game species. Your best bet is to visit your fish and game site for your particular state to learn the legal way to hunt different species. bob
