Looking for a quality locking gun case

For both under seat in car and for home. Don't want keyed - only want combination - but not wheel type because I understand hard to see in dark. Also don't want battery type. So far, best option I've found is: http://vlineind.com/ProductDetail.php?product_id=28 It needs to fit a KAHR...

    +P ammo in a Smith Model 439

Is +P in an '87 made Model 439 OK ? Thinking about buying S&B from Cabela's described as: Military-production 115-grain FMJ ammunition Act now to take advantage of these red-hot prices on factory-overrun, military-production ammo. This top-quality 115-grain FMJ 9mm ammunition comes packed...

    Smith Model 439 FTE

Thanks gc. I pushed on rear end of extractor with thumb - feels like pretty good spring pressure. I'll field strip to clean and check extractor for wear - it looks OK with slide open - I'll get better view with slide off. I'll spray it with Gunscrubber and work extractor in and out -...

    Smith Model 439 FTE

Recently bought used M439 (made in '87 - has long extractor and ambi safety) - I cleaned it pre-shooting. Shot it first time with daughter and son-in-law. I shot 8 rounds, they each shot about 42 rounds - all ammo was WIN white box. We used an original S&W mag and a stainless aftermarket...

Smith Model 439 safety and lanyard loop

Just got "new" one - made in 1987. My old one had single safety - new has ambi. Wondering if I can convert back to single and where I might get parts. if it is possible to convert back. Also, old had lanyard loop - new does not, but I think they came with one. Bottom of frame /...

Update on "Eyes getting old (70)"

At range again today - used my older, lower power reading glasses - found them to be good compromise - Ruger Mark III Hunter at 25 feet (green pipe), Ruger 10-22 (stock sights) at 50 feet - paper targets (red bull) and Dirty Birds - could see sights and targets pretty well - not perfect, but 95%...

    Eyes getting old (70)

Thanks. Just did a little test - used my older, lower power reading glasses and the Dirty Bird target on my garage door at about 40 feet. Learned as I suspected - higher power glasses give clear gun sights and fuzzier targets - the older, lower power not as clear gun sights, but pretty clear...

    Eyes getting old (70)

Guess its a compromise - clear sights, fuzzy target - or clear target, fuzzy sights - or fuzzy everything :) CAS - let me guess - Ruger Vaquero ??? Gotta love the .45 LC.

    Eyes getting old (70)

Thanks CF. Have not tried either. Want to stay low tech - "iron sights" - old fashioned I guess. Have shot red dot on friends AR variants - fun at 100 yards. It was easy to see the dot - at 100 yards, that target looked pretty small.

    Eyes getting old (70)

Thanks 1775. Understand re dual colors. Have found I see green well - have Hi Viz green front pipe on Ruger Mark III and another. Painted rear replacement square notch blade on Mark III pink / red (finger nail polish works well) - hard to see, so repainted a white "post" on. After lousy wet...

    Eyes getting old (70)

Have a newer stock Ruger 10-22 and want to get good at 50 feet offhand. Problem is with my reading glasses - can see rear sight well, the front bead is fuzzy, and I can't see the target. Thought about how to fix problem. One option is changing sights - found these...
