Fast and Furious guns linked to 11 violent crimes in US

That's a shame, I'd be more entertaining the other way.

Federal (Inc.) cracking down on online ammo sales?

That's ok, the only LE ammo I like is Speer anyway. :)

Best 45 caliber magazine 8 rounder fullsize

Can't go wrong with CMC power mags. CDNN has the blue 8rd for $20. I didn't see the stainless.

Ever got a Qtip stuck in a gas key? I'm an idiot.

Find one of those special pipe cleaners that the black powder guys use on their flash holes. It should get hooked on the q-tip piece and pull it out. Also, they'll work better on cleaning the gas key anyway. (though it still doesn't need it)

AR Bolt Locked up. Need Help!

While pulling on the charging handle, slap the butt against the ground. It'll pop right out.

Ever Dropped a Gun Because of Recoil?

Not personally, but I did record this. 3" slug one handed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TO05o7kPusc

Retail powder prices-the 'economics' just hit me.

Can only shoot reloads if you use their components? I'd be finding a different range. It's one thing not letting you shoot reloads out of rentals or even not at all, but allowing their components only is over the top.

    Bulk Remington 223 VS Re-loads

The bulk loads will not have Varget in them. I'm not familiar with 4895. I'd suggest H335 or .mil pulldown WC844 (to save money) to match the common bulk rounds.

reloading dangers - have you ever had an accident?

I've been using a Lee Challenger since my dad bought it in the late 80s, and I got more interested in reloading than he did. I got a nice dented fingernail once with the decapper and a .223 case, but nothing bad. I've always used a ram primer in the press and haven't blown one, but I have...

Tula ammo sticking in my AR.

I know it's bad juju, but I had a SS 16" carbine barrel that would get every single round of tula stuck unless I put a drop of CLP on the first round in every magazine. After I changed to a 24" rifle length barrel, it had no trouble ejecting, but wouldn't strip a round from the magazine. I...

    Serrations can save your life!

I haven't found anything my straight edged knifes couldn't cut that a serrated could. Now on a badly maintained knife, you can use more force cutting with a dull serrated knife than you can a smooth blade because of the teeth, but nobody lets their knives get that dull, do they?

    powder valley

Do they even ask for the ID when you are buying powder and primers? I ordered 4# of Intl Clays and a brick of primers when I saw the sale, but didn't see that part. Even though it was a small amount, the difference in price on the powder alone paid for the hazmat.

    tsa approved ammo storage boxes?

You're better off mailing that much ammo as well. The weight limit on ammo is 11 pounds, and they have to be packaged in such a way that the primers are protected. I've made it through so far with rounds on stripper clips loose in a plastic box, magpul pmags with the dust covers on, berry's...

    New AR Owner questions

    1. GI mags work great, especially with the magpul follower. Pmags are, however, worth the money. 2. Keep the bolt wet, cleaning is optional. Any kind of light oil works great. 3. Don't make it a contest to see how much you can make the gun weigh, and be sure to share the fun with others.

What do you do with all of your empty powder containers?

I use them to keep reclaimed shot in. It's very unwieldy to refill the Mec bottles from a 50# bag.

I acted real dumb at gun show today

I was eyeballing an old beat up iver johnson shotgun that I wanted to use for parts at the last show in MD that I thought was $80, but turned out to be $280. I blew up laughing, put it back on the rack and walked away. I had an excuse though, I had laser PRK done 3 days prior and everything...

What clever little things have you "invented or discovered" that you can share?

I always decap the hulls before I wash them to ensure the primer pockets are clean, and I run a load of car washing rags afterwards to clean the drum out.

    Your worst failure to fire

I was about 15 rounds into a trap match with no lost when on the next shot, BLOOP! The wad and shot load hit the ground about 10 feet in front of me. To that point none of my thousands of rounds of reloads had ever FTFed.

What clever little things have you "invented or discovered" that you can share?

I wish I could find an easy way to dry my range pickup hulls after running them through the washing machine. I've just been standing them up in old cookie sheets and letting them sit for a couple of days. One good tip though. I found out brake caliper grease works wonders on gun slides...
