    Finally got me an AR....

Take yours, lay it on a gray tile floor and snap a few. That's what it looks like.

    Finally got me an AR....

Hey, that looks just like mine!

    Possible AR argument point

We should paint them pink and blue and yellow. Then they won't look so scary.

when cleaning the barrel of a rifle...

The bottom line is: Do not damage the crown. The crown is where the bullet exits the barrel. As the bullet exits the barrel it has tremendous gas pressure behind it. Ideally the pressure is released evenly all around the bullet, not imparting any uneven forces to upset the bullet's spin or...

    AR Barrel Nut

I do not have the block, but I did put the upper in a vice, lined with neoprene. Holding it was not the problem, as I bent the tool. I will try Kroil and heat, though not at the same time. Thanks

    AR Barrel Nut

I have a Rock River AR. I am trying to replace the stock hand guard with a free floater, which requires removing the barrel nut. I can not get the darned thing off. I even bent the pins on my AR tool, and it would not budge. Any tips, hints or secrets? Or am I stuck with stock hand guards? Thanks

    Supply timeline?

This is America. Assuming your scenario with no laws changing and no drop in demand (unlikely), lots of new manufacturers will spring up. As new manufacturers come on-line supply will increase and prices and availability will drop back down to reasonable levels. It is macroeconomics 101.

Seriously, what is a Bushmaster like this going for these days?

Functionally correct, but not exactly true. Semi-automatic rifles with two or more of the following: Able to accept detachable magazines Folding or telescoping stock Pistol grip Bayonet mount Flash suppressor, or threaded barrel designed to...

    Overpricing is ridiculous.

Looking at it from the other side, I have a nice Rock River that I do not want to sell. But the first $5000 takes it!

    *** 10-round magazine limit argument ***

Precisely my point. They are not really interested in the effectiveness of the regulation, but rather the perception that they are doing something.

    *** 10-round magazine limit argument ***

I think that you are looking at this backwards. 10 round magazines, flash hiders, collapsible stocks, these all make little to no difference to the functionality/lethality of a firearm, and the politicians know that. But they have to be seen as doing something. So these bans go into place...

Which one of these full size pistols would you choose for "Home Defense?"

I would go for the Sig or the HK. I love 1911s and they are what I shoot 90% of the time, but in terms of features and arguably reliability I would leave the 1911 out. And DEFINITELY not a cheap 1911.

    Gun Club/Range Liabilities

I recently, reluctantly became an officer at my gun club. I am very concerned about liability and both the club and now me getting sued. As I see it, there are two important ways to cover myself: 1) Insurance - Our club has both NRA insurance and an outside policy to cover officers...

    .45 230gr RNL Inaccurate?

I may be wrong, but as HSmith stated: "there is no practical difference in accuracy when equal quality bullets are used." Some people claim that hollow points are more accurate. I suppose that is because there is more mass further out in the bullet, creating more stabilization as the...

Need some help for the wife.

Happy to Help, But You Can Keep the Wife Happy to help, but you can keep the wife. I already have one and don't live in Utah. The 1911 is always a pleasure to shoot, especially with lighter loads.

    Cleaning Stones

I have been getting into doing work on my 1911s, and have been successful at trigger jobs and even built a frame for a Marvel conversion (sweet). I have really come to rely on my stones, but they are getting dirty and clogged. Can they be cleaned or are they disposable? Thanks...

What Happened to the Bullseye List?

Does anyone know what happened to the Bullseye List Server? I know that there was some trouble a week or so ago, but it came back shortly. Now I can not access it. Is it coming back, or has it moved? I really learned a great deal from it. Thanks, Gregg __________________
