    Defensive/Multi-purpose Rifle

I go with your reasoning as well... For me, my Henry 22LR lever is a great little game-getter/knockaround rifle. Light, accurate, not too threatening looking (unless it's pointed at you - and any rifle looks threatening then), and with 15 shots on hand - it'll put out decent amounts of lead...

    32 acp

Golden Loki's tests with FMJ say the 8" isn't true. All seem to do at least 13" of penetration - when fired from the diminutive P-32 as well. That seems to be plenty of penetration...

    Best 50BMG ammo for hunting

Sure it may be overkill to shoot deer with a .50BMG but if he's doing it in a safe manner to others why not? The problem is - what about a bad hit at those long ranges he wants to use? Say a shot into the hindquarter leaving the deer out there at 800, 1000 yards to sit and suffer? How long...

    SOG Customer Service.

Whenever one of my SOG knives is getting a bit dull, I just stop on by their office (I live in the Lynnwood, WA area) and they sharpen, lube, adjust and tighten everything for me for free. Even had them replace a blade on my Flash II that got knicked - didn't even ask about it, they just...

    Pocket Carry. Really?

I use a Pocket Holster for my Kel-Tec P32. It's in my right-rear pocket where a wallet normally would be. If I need to draw, it simply looks like I'm reaching for my wallet. Convenient, completely normal to reach for if I'm being robbed, and in a location that no one even pays attention to a...

    Three necessary knives?

SOG Flash II as a nice, compact, tough folder for most things. SOG PowerLock EOD or similar multi-tool, always handy. SOG Hunter Revolver - one end a nice 5" blade with gut hook on back, the other end a nice 5" sawtooth blade. Fixed-type configuration, very handy! Oh, and it's SOG...

The coolest looking hand gun ever?....

jmresistance wrote: I've shot one, it was a very accurate, natural handling pistol that was slick. I ended up not getting it because replacement magazines were around $30 each. But it cycled beautifully for 50 shots. I still may get one because it's affordable and so unique looking.

Best wood for fighting stick / walking cane?

I like purpleheart. Hard, tough, decent weight, and beautiful wood as well - no one would think a figured chunk of purple colored wood would be anything but a decorative cane/walking stick!

    Did you ever just QUIT?

A hot load from an S&W500. Hit the target, decided I'd rather not punish myself physically or aurally with the remaining shots, and handed the revolver back to the owner. Too many shots from that hand-cannon would have done a number on my aging wrists, and ruined the rest of the day.

    22 short rifles

Another vote for the Henry - 21 rounds of short is a lot of fun! As far as measuring the SPL of the rifle on your iPhone, it probably won't work very well. The integration window on most SPL software/meters is much too long to catch the peak. You'd need to make a digital recording of the...

What makes the .357 Mag 125gr unquestionably the best manstopper?

@ThompsonCustom: Its tested out of a 5 inch revolver. That must be one special load! Commercial loads don't get close to that, even the hot Cor-Bon loads.

    SOG Flash II Tanto

I have a Flash II semi-serrated. It's great - incredibly tough, light, extremely fast to open. It and my SOG Twitch XL are used for daily carry, based upon what I'm planning to do/wear. I do like the serrations - makes opening boxes a bit easier (banding cuts like a dream).

Which lever action for home defense?

Personally, I can see a real reason for a lever for HD over a shotgun (and I use a lever for this very reason): I value my ears - I make my money with my ears. The muzzle blast of my Rossi 357 lever is MUCH more tame and quiet than my Kel Tec SUB2000 in 9mm, and absolutely nothing compared to...

    .22 lever action

I've got an H001 with about 8,000 rounds through it. Slickest lever action I've felt, never fails to seriously dent the case (no light strikes), accurate, and fun. Great little rifle, and 15 shots on tap makes reloading few and far between!
