    Tom Gresham nailed it today

ElMariachi is right. The best way to win THE arguement with an anti-2ndA person is to invite him/her to a 'shooting' exercise with alot of 'welcome' attitude on our part. In that I reside in Southeastern Virginia, I am yet to run into an anti-2ndA person.

    Trying to reason with a pro-ban "pro-2a" soon-to-be-former friend...

Diamondback6, you need to treat this like evangelism. Keep your message free of emotion. Present your argument in a clear and concise manner, and let her sleep on what you have said. The more you push it, the likelier you are of losing the person. And for goodness' sake...

    Price of 5.56/.223 !!!

A few years ago, I purchased a Carcano in very good condition for two-hundred dollars. I found the 7.35mm round to be hard to come by and expensive (as much as two dollars a round). This prompted me to learn reloading. It cost me a bit to set up and I did a lot of reading in books and on the...

I wanted to point out that it is not just the anti gun crowd we have to worry about.

I take the OP's message to mean that for those of us who know better we need to take every opportunity to teach the ignorant (the world is full of teenagers of all ages on this subject) about what is really going on in the fight for our Rights as American citizens. A couple of weeks ago I had...

"The Speech" for a 5-year-old grandaughter

educate them early By Zombienerd: So, take the mystique away. Any time my children want to see or touch one of my guns, all they have to do is ask. I always oblige. I do this so that it's another part of their life, and not something that daddy keeps in a closet that we're not supposed to...

Which gun makes you feel like you own perfection?

Danprkr, as per the thread - it is what instills confidence in you about that particular weapon. And that is what makes all the difference in the world. - JKHolman

    cheap, easy, homemade reactive targets

plastic bottles " I like the plastic soda bottles, they don't break up into tiny pieces, can take lots of hits and react nicely when hit. If you hit the dirt below where a two liter bottle (empty) sits with a .308 you can launch it 30-40' feet in the air and do it again where lands next...

AR - Flat Top or Carry Handle???

Briang2ad, while a scope mount can be attached to the carry handle of a standard AR 15 (mine is a Bushmaster XM15 E2S with carry handle), the mount will not be as stable as that on a flat top. I do like my AR-15, but if I could do it over, it would be a flat top. - JKHolman

If Restored Bugs You, Please Don't Open!

Billy Shears, with a name like that you must be a fellow Beatles fan. Having said that, I agree with your notion that for the most part, a firearm should be left alone unless it is so far gone that a restoration could only improve the piece. Unfortunately, some gun owners do...
