My load for deer and antelope is 139 gr sst with 65.5 grains of RL19, it is pushing 3200 fps. Groups out of my Ruger mkII about 3/4" at 100 yards. Hope this helps.

25.5 grains of 3031 pushing a 50 gr v-max is my favorite load for my .223. But just like everything else, mileage may vary.

This is very sad, and it probably has alot to do with new gun owners with no training, i am just a hunter with no real connection to "assault" rifles or hand guns, but i think the principles are similar. When you pull the trigger it goes bang. Common sense is just not that common anymore.

Shot my doe with the 139 gr sst out of my 7mm yesterday, cant post pics cause the camera took a crap but the bullet went through both lungs and made complete mush out of them and left a 1/2" hole on the way out. This will be my permanent load out of my 7mm rem mag. unless i get another elk tag.

I shoot my hawken style .54 with round balls more than anything, but when it comes to rifle i always have my cz 527 .223 in the pickup, its amazing how many times it comes in handy as far as coons,skunks,coyotes, and prarie dogs are concerned just driving back and forth from the hunting grounds.
