scope advice - 223 - Target Work Mostly

Scope Choice I recently bought a .223 bolt rifle and went with the Nikon M-223 3-12x 42 scope. This scope is from the Monarch line. It has a BDC reticle with holdover dots out to 600 yards. With the Nikon "Spot On" software, you can determine the holdovers for any specific bullet, velocity...

    RCBS Hand Primer

Hand Primer I have had the same problem with Hornady and Lyman shell holders. I fixed mine by reaming the shell holder with a center reamer. Just cut the tapered hole in the bottom until it fits the plastic guide for the RCBS tool.

    Ultrasonic Case Cleaning Success!

Post Length First off, I appreciate the information you shared with us, and the good grammar, spelling, and paragraph structure. Length of the post is not an issue when it's easy to read. Also, I have been thinking of using this method with an old jewelry cleaner (ultrasonic) and you...

Ever traded a non-firearm for a firearm or vice versa?

Trader's Remorse Man this thread brings back some "trader's remorse" for me. In '85 I traded a Colt Ar15 HBAR AND a TC Contender with two barrels and a scope for a Maico 250 dirt bike. Bike was worn out two years later, and I still have the dirt bike bug that seems to monopolize my disposable...

Identity and Date of Manufacture of S&W Revolvers

Gun ID Radagast, Thanks for the quick reply and info on my gun. Apparently my grandfather didn't carry this gun while working as a security guard at Oak Ridge. He was a constable in Morgan County TN after the war, so maybe that is when he got the gun.

    UltraSonic Cleaning?

I have an ultrasonic cleaner that I use for jewelry and have also used it for cleaning pickup brass. This model also heats the solution while cleaning. Was wondering if it could be used to clean small gun parts such as BCG's (detail stripped) or pistol slides. And what would be a good...

Can't seem to match up my bullet brands with the powders I like to use. Specifically, I'm trying to find a load for an AR type rifle using the Barnes Varmint Grenade (50 Gr.) using Benchmark powder. Hodgdon manual doesn't list the Barnes bullet and Barnes data doesn't list Benchmark powder...
