    .22 for my 13 year old SR-22 M&P 15-22 or 10/22

Simple answer.......get both. If his heart is set on the MP15-22 get it. We have one and they are fun to shoot. Although we do not have a 10-22, we do have a similar Marlin 795. It is the gun that gets the most rounds through it at the range by far. With a $30.00 scope it's scary...

    Budget .22

We love our Marlin 795. On sale for $124.95 with a $25.00 rebate. Put a $30.00 scope on it and we can chase a pop can all over the pit with it! By far our favorite gun at the out door range. It now has a couple thousand rounds through and will fire just about any ammo. I was going to...

    Hi-point 995 customer service

A great way to win "Ugly gun of the day" award but it goes bang every time you pull the trigger, as fast as you can. $10.00 case for a $5.00 gun.

    What's your favorite .22 handgun?

Ruger MKIII 22/45. Like it so much we bought a second. I do NOT like my new Single Six. Only 60 rounds from new and for sale. (never even fired a Mag. through it) I like the semi-autos far more.

Looking to Buy First "Real" Handgun

Exactly! By using the range of ammo available for a .357 Magnum you can vary the bang, kick and flame. We go to the range a couple times a month mostly to shoot our .22LR's but we always tale at least 1 686 with us.

    Ruger Mark III

The Ruger MK's are great guns! Do not be discouraged by those that complain about taking them apart. If can be done and it gets easier with time. You will be rewarded with a reliable gun that shoots were you point it. I read lots of posts on them before I bought ours, then a couple weeks ago...

Does a .22 have to be the first step?

My son and I both own a 686+. It's a great gun and a lot of fun to shoot. However we both love to shoot our .22LR Rugers most of the time. Shoot a couple hundreds rounds through the .357 Magnum and you know it physically and financially. Shoot 100 rounds of ,22LR and you have spent about...

    Price of .22 LR ammo

Walmarts raised their prices on .22LR months ago here. We have 17 W/M within a 20 mile radius of us so I have a lot to check. I was fortunate to find stores that did not change the price marked on the shelves so they sold them to me at the lower price. Now they are all marked $18.97 for the...

How many rounds do you fire per year...for practice?

Since we just started shooting again this year I can only go by the month to date this year. At present we have limited ourselves to 2 calibers, .22LR and .357 Magnum. About 100-200 per month .38/.357 App. 1000-1500 per month .22LR

    Got my new Heritage .22lr/,22mag

WOW! For that much I would add one to the collection just for fun. Here, if you can find them, it's north of $250.00. (Northern Illinois):banghead: I was thinking about one and opted to spend the extra $$ and go with the Single Six. If I could find most any .22LR handgun for under...

New walmart ammo: orange/black swiss made ammunition

Same here, same reason. U.S. ammo is fine, some of the foreign stuff is not.

    which one to buy 357 10mm 41mag or 44mag

Agreed. You would never be sorry owning a good ,357 Magnum revolver. Watch Stella and Susana as they fire off a few .357 Magnum rounds of various ammo........... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAsLHVzMsDI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6AN7vMtFYE As others have stated, you can...

Looking for new 22LR handgun to add to collection

I got a 5.5 Single Six blue a few months ago. I actually like shooting our MKIII better and I am a revolver guy! If I had it to do all over I would spend the extra $$ and get the S&W 617 .22LR revolver that I wanted in the first place. Not that there is anything wrong with the SS it's...

What do people do with full size revolvers?

Simple.................we shoot them! Big ones, small ones and anything in between. Big gun, big flame. Fire is cool!

    Best to start out with

I agree! The "IF" should have been more of an "IF you HAVE to sell it in order to fund a larger caliber gun" I will always have a few (2,3 or 30) .22LR somethings around here..........:)

    22/45 mklll

I bought a MKIII 22/45 after reading many posts, good and bad about them. Mine has been no problem. A little tough to dismantle first time but nothing a human being with half a brain could not deal with. (yes, I have just about half a brain) Twice people have told me they were going to...

    Best to start out with

Start with a .22LR of some sort. Nothing but positives that way....... Not much kick, noise, cost to shoot, easy to resell when IF the time comes to go bigger......plus there are several good/inexpensive long guns that you can also get for $100-$200.00. Shoot accurately all day for...

Anyone else transition from .22LR to .45ACP in one setting

I actually enjoy going down in caliber. At the end of the day I don't feel sore and I still have money left in my wallet!

Anyone else transition from .22LR to .45ACP in one setting

When we go to the range we'll pop through several hundred rounds of .22LR and then crank off a box or two of .357 Magnum. We know what to expect. More often than not the shooters next to us do not. Seems to be without fail that people on both sides of us will be shooting box after box...
