CFE 223 with 52 grain Bergers?

Thanks muletrain...interested in hearing how they work out for you. I'll double check my Berger book but I believe both Benchmark and Reloader 10x were listed. I can work up loads with those until I come across data for the CFE 223 powder. My new neck bushing will be here tomorrow so...

CFE 223 with 52 grain Bergers?

As the title states, is anyone using CFE 223 paired with 52 grain Match Grade Varmint bullets from Berger in their .223? I've got a few boxes of the 52 grain Bergers that I want to start load development with and was hoping to try out the new Hodgdon CFE 223 powder. I picked up the new Berger...

686+ + Ahrend Retro Combat Grips

CTGunner - the flames are a special edition that Lew Horton put out. Fitting for a little snubby...epecially when I'm shooing my loads worked up with 2400...she's rather "boomy" and likes to throw fire. :D

686+ + Ahrend Retro Combat Grips

A month or so ago I posted pictures of my Lew Horton Special Addition 686+. A couple days ago, my new grips I ordered from Ahrends showed up and man are they nice. They are the round butt Retro Combat grips in Goncalo Avles. Fit and finish is perfect, they feel really nice in hand and look...

    Most aesthetically pleasing autoloader-droool...

Lots of good looking rigs in this thread. I'm glad to see a few rimfires showing up too. Here's my S&W Model 41 - she's a pleasure to look at and even better to shoot!

    Scope suggestions - $500 range

I'd lean towards one of the Leupold VX-II's in your budget. I've got a 6-18x that I've been using for prairie dog hunting the last couple years. In my mind 6x on the low end is too high but they've got other models that would work better for your setup. You may even be able to get into a VX-III...

    Lobo Gun Leather

Anyone currently using holsters or belts from Lobo gun leather? I've been exchanging emails with Ray for the past couple days and I think I have settled on one of his lined belts and one of his slide style holsters for my SA Sub Compact .40. I was curious if others have use his products and...

    Leather treatment?

Check out Obenauf's. They have a fantastic oil and then leather protectant cream for additional protection. I intially bought the stuff for my leather knife sheaths but have since used it on boots, belts, wallets...basically anything that's leather in my house has got the treatment.

    Smith M57

The .41 Mag is my favorite caliber. I to find it easy to shoot, very manageable recoil and a create caliber for hunting. It can be a little more difficult to find factory ammo than say the .44 Mag but it's not impossible and if you reload it's irrelevant anyways. I bought a .44 Mag after I...

    Performance Center 657

I thought I'd post a few pictures of my favorite revolver. It's a Performance Center 657 that my wife bought me for Christmas a few years ago (yep she's a keeper!) The .41 Mag has quickly become one of my favorites and I'm looking to add one of the Performance...

    My 686+ - pic heavy

Thanks for all the compliments guys! When I was looking for a 686, I stumbled across this one in one of my FFL's catalogs...who also happens to be in the family now ( read that as really bad on the checkbook). :D The price he gave me was 15 or 20 dollar higher for this 686+ with the flames over...

    My 686+ - pic heavy

It was to nice out today to resist getting a few more shots of my Lew Horton 686+. This is the first snubby I've bought and it won't be my last. They are a bit addicting! So far it's had a trigger job and I've got a set of Goncalo Alves retro combat round butt grips from Ahrends coming. The...

I messed around in the gun store too long...

Congrats on the .41 Mag...it's my favorite caliber as well and the deer really do love it. :D I don't think I've ever seen more than one .41 Mag in the gunshop at one time, most of the times it is a big fat 0. Keep us posted and enjoy shooting it.
