Selling glock 34 to dealer in Massachusetts?

I have a glock34 I had transferred from a friend that I'd like to get rid of. When I went to a local gun store, they said the store itself probably couldn't buy it because it was manufactured after 1998, and a private sale was my only option. I know you can't buy new glocks in Massachusetts...

Just got a used Glock 34 -- take to gunsmith?

Update --- took the Glock 34 to the range, and It worked fine -- no jams or malfunctions. I still can't shoot it as well as my S&W686, though ;)

Just got a used Glock 34 -- take to gunsmith?

Thanks. I was actually asking what would be fair for the gunsmith to charge to inspect the gun, but about 500 used for the actual gun was what I saw online as well.

Just got a used Glock 34 -- take to gunsmith?

I got a lightly used glock 34 from a friend. She took care of it as far as I know, and I didn't pay anything for it, so I didn't worry too much about inspecting it at first. It hasn't been shot in 7-8 years. I field stripped it, cleaned it, put on a small bit of oil, and it cycles dummy...

Moving to Massachusetts from Tennessee with revolver -- any advice?

LickitySplit -- I don't mean to argue, but if you look at: http://www.sec.state.ma.us/cis/ciswel/weltomas.htm and search for "60 days," it appears there is a 60-day grace period for getting your LTC. Am I mis-understanding this? Thanks.

Moving to Massachusetts from Tennessee with revolver -- any advice?

Thanks, everyone. When people in Boston ask how Tennessee was (I lived in Boston for eight years, moved to TN for 18 months, and now I'm moving back), I'll say, "It wasn't bad. I put on a couple of pounds, though ;)"

Moving to Massachusetts from Tennessee with revolver -- any advice?

Hi all, I am moving to Massachusetts from Tennessee next week, and I currently own a S&W 686p. I am currently trying to weed through all the various state legal sites, and I just want to make sure I'm understanding things correctly. From anyone who lives in Massachusetts, can you...

Angry hotel guest with handgun permit, what would you do?

Thanks again, everyone. Sadly, this incident was actually my very first introduction to firearm culture. (I grew up in the Chicago area and spent the last eight years in Boston, only moving to Tennessee this past year.) I got my CCW partly to try to understand issues like this better, but the...

Angry hotel guest with handgun permit, what would you do?

Thanks, everyone. I also feel it was a bit of a lose/lose situation. If it happens again, I'll try to avoid offending the gun owner and being a bit more assertive with the police.

Angry hotel guest with handgun permit, what would you do?

I should mention that I now have a carry permit of my own and recently bought a S&W 686p, so I think it's fair to say I'm not anti-gun, just anti unpleasant-surprise :)

Angry hotel guest with handgun permit, what would you do?

Hi all, I'm not sure if this should go here or in the "legal" forum, but I need some advice. I manage a hotel, and a while back, I had some rowdy guests that were causing a disturbance around 11:30 p.m., but they were not causing any real threat of danger or violence as far as I know...

Best camera lenses / settings for gun photography?

Thanks. I tried that, but I found that any sort of wrinkles or tiny particles of dust/lint in fabric really show up in the close-ups. I think a piece of leather or a nice hardwood background would also be excellent.

Best camera lenses / settings for gun photography?

Thanks, everyone. With a 50mm lens and a few lampshades, I had some better luck.

    Just got a S&W 686P: I am a revolver newbie.

My first (and only gun) is also a 686p 4" -- congrats! For me, it was either that or an SP101. The SP101 felt a little better in my hand, but I shoot much better with a larger frame.

Best camera lenses / settings for gun photography?

I've seen a lot of really nice pictures of firearms on this site -- many of them showing small details of actions quite well. Aside from building a light/macro box, does anyone have any tips on favorite lenses, focal lengths, or other settings for getting quality shots? I have a Canon 50D, and...

    De-cocking S&W 686p

I've been practicing de-cocking my S&W 686p. From what I've read, the proper way to do this is to put my thumb under the hammer, pull the trigger, take my finger out of the trigger guard, and slowly lower the hammer. This works about half the time, but often, the hammer seems to get stuck in...

    Cleanest 38 and 357 ammo for S&W 686p?

Thanks, everyone. I do clean my gun after every use -- I was just curious if any brand or type in particular caused noticeable difficulties in cleaning. I'll give Fiocchi a try and see if I notice a difference.

    Cleanest 38 and 357 ammo for S&W 686p?

Can anyone recommend a full-metal-jacket practice ammo that will leave the least residue and grime on a stainless steel 357 revolver (S&W 686p)? Do the so-called "clean" rounds that reduce lead exposure really keep your gun any cleaner?
