Update --- took the Glock 34 to the range, and It worked fine -- no jams or malfunctions. I still can't shoot it as well as my S&W686, though ;)

Thanks. I was actually asking what would be fair for the gunsmith to charge to inspect the gun, but about 500 used for the actual gun was what I saw online as well.

Thanks. I tried that, but I found that any sort of wrinkles or tiny particles of dust/lint in fabric really show up in the close-ups. I think a piece of leather or a nice hardwood background would also be excellent.

Can anyone recommend a full-metal-jacket practice ammo that will leave the least residue and grime on a stainless steel 357 revolver (S&W 686p)? Do the so-called "clean" rounds that reduce lead exposure really keep your gun any cleaner?
