Mine is a fullstocked flintlock Hawken in .54 caliber. Has iron hardware and silver inlays like the engraved escutcheon plates and buffalo on the cheekpiece. Sorry for the poor photos. Rifle in storage now and these are the best I have.:o
My 66 is in .44 Special, as are my Open Tops. I bought the special carrier made to handle .45 Cowboy Special for my 66 and it feeds the short Russians very well.I use alot less black powder this way and recoil is minimal.
New to this forum. Another thread got me thinking I should post my video. I had a .44-40 Henry chamber sleeved to .44 Special. Then the face of the carrier was ground so it would feed .44 Russian, Colt and Special. Having trouble with video. Back later...
