I have always wanted a shoulder rig, but rarely wear a suit or other clothes that would work with it...
But I am always looking at them for some reason!!!
Good thread!
Kudos to everyone who has posted in this thread so far!
Lots of logical arguments without crazy emotion. That is truly the only way this can be prevented.
While I do not believe (and hope that I am not proven wrong) that the US will turn into either UK or Australia, my concern is more...
I liken it to a traffic accident... I tell myself to not look, not look, not... Aw shucks, I looked!!
I keep hoping that maybe I will see something unique on the show, I guess...
My Colt 1903 .32 is on the top right, refinished with high polished, dark bluing. Love it!!
The lower left is his not yet refinished brother 1908 .380.
Both of these are more fun to shoot than I ever expected!!
As for use as a CCW, I would be somewhat concerned with one in the...
My biggest pet peeve is the 'break-in period'.
So I lay down significant cash and then have to add additional ammo (that I may or may not be able to acquire :cuss:).
Looks like there are some pretty common peeves out there!

My PM45 used to kick like a mule! My hand would be sore after a few rounds. The sharp, hard plastice knurls on the grip do not help the situation...
The PM9 is much more gentle on my old bones!
I just recently got into the AirSoft world. I bought a Sig 228 from Airsplat.com and it is more fun than I ever expected.
For less than $100, it looks just like my real 228, the slide goes back with each shot, has a slide lock and a working decocker.
Here is what it looks like...
I wholeheartedly agree, smalls. My everyday carry is either a Sig 245 if I have enough clothes to blouse out and conceal it, or the PM9. Tried the PM45 an could not hit the broad side of a barn.
I know many folks who carry .32 or .380, but my preference is just a little bigger!
Btw, these...
For these versions of both the 1903 and 1908, the barrel lug was machined integrally with the barrel.
This 1903 is what is called a version 3, where the earlier versions had lugs that were removable (ala the way it is on the current 1911). I'll bet it was a bear to machine!!!
Just to make...
Have not seen any threads about these wonderful Colts lately!
They really are works of art, and are very important steps in the process of the development of the eventual 1911.
I was lucky enought to acquire a Colt 1903 (.32) that had been chemically stripped a while back. I sent it for...
rhinoh,
I believe that you are correct!! I think that it actually is a PM45 that I traded for a PM9.
Just grabbed a picture from my file... GOOD EYE!
Now I have to get a new photo up!!
