Any Issues Ever Discovered with Small Pistol Primers in .45acp?

Hello, I'm aware of the use of small pistol primers in .45acp for some years now. I've never used them due to my vast supply of cases I've accumulated. I debated finding some SPP cases when LPPs were harder to find, but ultimately didn't need to. So zero experience. I just ordered and...

    Compact/Micro 9mm Suggestions?

https://shopkahrfirearmsgroup.com/cm9-cm9093/ It says it's a hammer-cocking DAO. Does it not have a hammer, either?

What 9mm Defensive Ammunition do You Carry?

When I carried a 9mm, I generally used a +P loading of the Gold Dot bullet, whether by Speer or someone else. Prior to the GD, I used CorBon. I'm currently deciding on a compact 9mm, and, when I decide on one, I'll probably test it primarily with Gold Dot Short Barrel if they still make it.

    Compact/Micro 9mm Suggestions?

Looking at it, the CM9 is actually pretty close to ideal. My one issue is the DAO trigger -- how is it? I liked the trigger on my S&W M19-3, for example, but have never found a semi-auto DAO trigger I like.

    Compact/Micro 9mm Suggestions?

Hello, I have an LCP II and I really like it. It's handy for going armed in places/situations one of my 1911s would prove too cumbersome. That said, I'd really like a step up in power from the .380. Specs I'm looking for: - 9x19 - polymer - single stack - hammer fired (shrouded or bobbed) -...

Almost fell over when I found this

I sub at my kids' schools. I had worked at the schools before the kids were born (and before my business was born.) I missed it, and started going back occasionally. The kids decided they like me, so I now try to get over there 2-3 times per week. I can assure you that this rural school is...

    .22 LR long-ish (long-er) range

Back when I was playing with long-range .22lr, I used the D Rock tool, described here https://www.rimfirecentral.com/threads/d-rock-22-caliber-bullet-sizer-review.345231/ and used it on CCI Subsonic loads. My rifle rifle is a Savage stainless with heavy barrel and +20moa scope mount...

Even if it doesn't detonate, chances are it's inconsistent if run over a chrono. Use a filler for cat sneeze loads: (URL deleted because it was the wrong one, and I can't find the right one again 🙄)

    It's a pressure designation.

What does it mean to say a gun has "soul"?

The art isn't in engraving or anything like that. It's in making the individual parts work together in perfect harmony in a way unique to that firearm. And that's fine that you don't understand it. It's not for everyone. Soul (character) takes artisans and craftsmen. Tools take CNC machinery.

Think we could reverse the anti gun trend?

When the issue of capacity is brought up, I demonstrate both a 1911 mag change and loading a Mosin-Nagant from a stripper clip. Mag capacity is generally just a convenience in civilian scenarios, not a necessity. Plenty of fights have been won with J-frames and speedloaders.

What does it mean to say a gun has "soul"?

That's the difference between science and art. Hand-fitted, a pistol is unique, even though there may be millions of them. Dropped together, a pistol is merely a tool -- not that there's anything wrong with that, but the human element is missing. The soul of a thing is in the human element. The...

What does it mean to say a gun has "soul"?

A good ol' Zebco 33 might not, but an old Ambassadeur certainly will -- especially one that's been supertuned.

Think we could reverse the anti gun trend?

Most of those I've been talking with have more in common with us than anyone would like to admit. The same (correct) distrust of government prevails. I dunno, man. I started talking with them out of curiosity. Come to find out that, while there are some as you describe, it's not, by far, the...
