    Cabelas is coming to Ohio

I heard that just a few hours ago. Looking forward to it. Although, since it is a smaller store, will it have less guns & reloading stuff than the regular sized stores like the one in Wheeling, WV?

    HK P30 or Sig 229

If you're wanting a sub compact for CCW, you could try the H&K P2000SK....or wait for the Sig P224 to hit the shelves.

    Sig Sauer

I bought a P238 last year and the mags are readily available. Also, the 1911's they make are very nice as well. I've noticed no QC issues with Sig-Sauer. However, YMMV....

    Are Walmarts selling more guns?

I've noticed here in central Ohio that the Wal-marts are beginning to have a little better selection of ammunition than in the years past. 44mag, 357, 38spl, 9mm, 40, 45, 30-06, 223, 22-250, 308, 30-30 and of course, bricks of .22LR and 17 HMR. For the most part, they have a decent selection...

Model 1840 Springfield Musket .69 cal.

Beautiful looking musket. Almost too beautiful.... But from looking at the screws, they appear to be fire blued, which would put it in the vicinity for the 1840's. It looks like it wasn't issued. Indeed, you have a rare find there.

    Piette/Uberti/Taylors???

Does anybody here know which company makes the Cabela's 1851 & 1861 Colt navy revolvers? I went online and the representative on their chat line wouldn't divulge who made them. They said since the products were exclusive to Cabela's, the manufacturer wouldn't let them give out their name...

Loading BP revolver for summer carry

I would say it could be done quite easily....after all, the guys in 1851 probably didn't unload their revolvers every day. I would just make sure the cylinder was completely dried of oil before I loaded it to avoid any condensation from gumming up the powder. You could also use something...

Which Would You Choose, Italy or India-made Repros?

I have two of the Pedersoli reproductions: Charleville Brown Bess Plus I have a Blue Ridge/Frontier caplock rifle from Cabela's. All of my Pedersoli's are excellent quality; fit and finish, lockwork, etc. are all top notch. The only complaint I have against Pedersoli is that they don't...
