Ohio Armament in Strasburg (south of Massillon) sells a lot of BCM and Aero precision, along with some other higher end manufacturers. They've always been very helpful when I've tried to find anything there.
I bought two handguns from them in the past year or so. One was a police trade-in Sig that exceeded my expectations. The other was a factory new handgun. All my dealings with them have been positive.
"As previously posted, I'd like to know where S&W and RUGER AR-15's are selling for around $400 ?
Bud's had S&W for around $550, and Ruger for over $600.
Been looking .......?"
Early last week Palmetto State Armory had S&W M&P 15 Sport II's for 399.99 with free shipping. They sold out in a...
I bought a a 916 back in the late 70's when I needed something to replace the unreliable department issued shotgun that was available to me at the time. Price was a major consideration. As noted, the 916 is not a quality piece, but it did work the one time I needed it to.
I later acquired a...
I started police work in the late 70's when revolver was the only option. I moved to higher capacity semi-autos when that option became available to me. I currently work where I could carry a revolver, but my choice is a S&W M&P 9.
I own and love lots of revolvers, but the only ones that see...
I'm getting ready to submit a form 1 for one of my lowers. In searching for an engraver I stumbled across a site called New World Ordinance. They had the following warning posted:
"WARNING !: Don’t get duped into taking your firearm to an unlicensed engraver.
A federal firearms license...
"Anyone here know this author?
Anyone here trained with him?"
I know and have trained with him. He knows his stuff, and he is a very serious student on these issues. He is one of the staff instructors at the Tactical Defense Institute in Ohio.
Greg also travels around the world in some...
I did my basic at Ft. Dix in January and February of '69. Most of the training was with the M14. We spent two full days on the M16, and I think we had them on a third occasion for full auto fire (basically dumped 2 mags to show you how hard it was to hit anything). Shortly after I left basic I...
Ohio doesn't have any added restrictions from what the Feds have.
Find a dealer to help you decide what you want, purchase the suppressor, submit the federal paper work and wait.
You'll have to decide whether to go with a trust or purchase in your own name.
Understanding self defense law is more complicated than just reading the words in a statute. One has to make sure to have read all the laws on the subject and also have some understanding of court decisions. The link below is to an article by Andrew Branca on the some unique aspects of Ohio self...
The LCR seems to be one of those guns that you either love or hate. I found mine to be painful to shoot, even after trying a different set of grips. On the other hand, I have no problem with Smith & Wesson air weights. I think a lot of it has to do with how your hand interacts with a given set...
Got mine yesterday also. With the new mag it's impractical for pocket carry in the pants I'm wearing now. It should work OK in some of my other pants with bigger pockets.
Overall, I like them.
I like mine enough that I bought a second. it has become my primary carry weapon when capacity is not a consideration. As stated, it can seem little heavy for pocket carry, but not enough to keep me from doing so.
I picked up two of them, put one in each of my vehicles. It's a solid knife, should be heavier duty than the 340. Bigger and heavier than I want for every day carry, but should be a great utility knife. For me it opens more easily than the 340, and the frame lock is very solid.
Might want to watch this one and see if it comes back in stock. $529 and free shipping. I've seen it go "out of stock" previously, and be back in stock with in a few days...
