I currently have a S&W 5 shot .38 snub as my bedside gun but I also have a S&W 6 shot 44 mag snub that hasn't seen much use since it wasn't so fun to shoot with heavy loads, but it just occurred to me, would even a light/plinking load of 44 mag be just as effective as a .38 spcl +P HP round...
I took apart the cylinder for a thorough cleaning on my Charter Arms .38 spcl police undercover snubbie but I can't seem to figure out an easy way to reinstall the ejector rod bushing  Here's a pic of what I'm trying to put back together:
Problem is the bushing has to be pushed...
Are there other popular special runs of S&W's besides:
Jovino
Magnaport
Lew Horton
Talo
And are these particular models usually worth the extra premium in price? Does Ruger and Colt have special edition models as well?
A quick google search tells me trigger pin removal is quite difficult with many guns, does anyone have some tricks or know of some special tools to make the job easier? It took a few hard and scary whacks to get the pin out of a Browing HP but no matter what I do I can't make the pin budge at...
S&W
Ruger
Colt
Taurus
Are there any others? And is there a reason why Ruger hasn't come out with a 1911 yet? It seems like a popular model, Colt sells every one they make, Kimber seems to be doing well with it, S&W is now getting into the act, what's Ruger's deal? I'd be really curious...
Any particular gun mags or back issue cd/dvd compilations worth buying/subscribing to? Are most titles available electronically now (which I'd prefer)? I'm mostly interested on subjects about handguns or even reloading. Thanks for any info!
I decided on getting a non-polymer 9mm DAO pistol for CC, here's a short list of models I came up with:
s&w 6946
beretta 92d
cz 75b dao
fn hi-power dao
Would any of one these have a significant advantage over the others or would I be good to go on any I'd get the best deal on? Thanks...
I love the looks of some of the AR-15 pistols some folks have built and would love to build my own! I've never shot a rifle round before, only handgun and the largest calibers I've shot were from my 44 mag and .480 revolvers. Would the recoil and muzzle blast from a 5.56 AR-15 pistol be any...
I sometimes come across these brands of used semiautos in my local shop:
FM
Star
Tanfoglio
Llama
Astra
They're usually in the $200-300 range and to me, they appear to be mostly well constructed, but then again I'm mostly a revolver guy so I may not know any better :uhoh: I'm really...
I have owned and shot only revolvers up to this point. The 44 mag was my favorite shooter by far, I just love the muzzle blast and the recoil that it produces! I can't get enough of that cartridge, I must have close to 1500 pieces of 44 mag brass waiting to be tumbled and deprimed. But anyway...
I think I'm satisfied with my revolver collection for now and would like to pick up my first semiauto. I was trying to decide between 9mm or 10mm and 1911 or not and then I heard the Desert Eagle 44 mag actually uses revolver ammo, is this true? I can't get enough of shooting my Ruger SRH...
I currently reload for a 44 mag snubby, was thinking about picking up another 44 with a longer barrel. Can someone fill me in on the Contender G2 pistols, are they a fun gun to shoot down the range? Are they DA/SA and can take 44 specials and handloads like a regular revolver? Thanks for any...
I currently shoot at an indoor 25 yd range with a Ruger SRH Alaskan 44 mag. Love the gun and love reloading the 44. I'm looking for an outdoor range that goes beyond 25 yds, should I look into another 44 mag with a scope or get a rifle? I really don't know much about scopes, rifles or long...
I'm all out of 2400 powder which I normally use for reloading 44 mag. I really like how it fills up the case making a double charge quite obvious. According to my Lyman manual, powders such as N110 and AA#9 would also take up similar capacity in the case, can anyone offer an opinion on these...
