    cz 550 varmint kevlar

I usually load 52 grain A-MAX in my 22-250 and 223, I will probably try those first, and I have had luck with h4895 and varget out of both. Thanks again!

    cz 550 varmint kevlar

Thanks!! I would get the 22-250, and the 1-14 twist would be perfect for me. I wouldn't be shooting anything over a 50 grain bullet.

    No such thing as overkill!!!!!!!!

Yes i have shot a 338 and would not own one, but I wont tell someone that they shouldn't use one!! And also Cooch, everyone else on this website knew what I was talking about by "overkill". I don't think anyone is impressed by your definition!!

    No such thing as overkill!!!!!!!!

Not all people care about cost or excess powder. Some guys like a great dane instead of a poodle!!!

    No such thing as overkill!!!!!!!!

Im tired of hearing people say that a large caliber gun is overkill for whitetail dear. If i shot a deer with a 338 mag with a full metal jacket, and shot another deer with a 243 win ballistic tip, which one is gonna do more damage? I feel like that its all about the bullet. Any arguments?

    220 swift, 22-250, 204????????

Yes, but I don't understand how a 22 cal bullet moving at 4000 ft per sec, would burn a barrel out faster because its being shot from a 220 swift vs a 4000 ft per sec bullet from a 250.

    220 swift, 22-250, 204????????

Whats the highest velocity that you have achieved reloading for a 220 swift, 22-250, or 204. And also, why doesn't the 220 swift get the respect (or production) that it deserves? Just curious and wanted to pick u'alls brains.

    Ruger 77 hawkeye

I am confident in his shooting ability, I just wasnt sure about the bullet with a whitetail. Will it mushroom? Or is it designed for thicker skinned game?

What is wrong with rifles today?

I've owned several different brands and calibers of rifles, and some shot well, others weren't worth throwing away. I am not happy with a rifle if it will not shoot 1" or less groups at 100 yards. Now that being said, I have never found a savage that I wasn't pleased with (in regards to...

    Ruger 77 hawkeye

Hey, just purchased a ruger 77 hawkeye compact in a 260 rem for my 9 year old son. I bought a box of remington 120 accutips, and couldn't get much better than 3 inch groups with it at 100yds. (I can throw rocks more accurate then that). Did a little research and best I can tell it has a 1-8...
