    Weatherby value

Thanks to all for the help. This one IS a Howa, and serial puts it in 1976. 8 rds fired through it in 1977, and not shot since. Too pretty to hunt with. Lol I still appreciate it for what it is though. Regards, Skip

    Weatherby value

Fellows, I’m looking to get a ballpark estimate of value of a rifle. It’s a Weatherby MK V, with the fancy and beautiful wood stock. It’s in pristine shape, even though it was made in the mid 1970’s. It is chambered in 30.06 and is a LEFT handed model. Never hunted with, and only been to the...

    Stock help/shoulder problem

Well, ya'll sprung a new one on me. I'm an old guy, and a shooter for 50 years, but never been into shotguns, and had never heard of Morgan. Thanks for the tips and help. I'll look into the Morgan device for my friend. Skip

    Stock help/shoulder problem

I have a friend with a severe shoulder problem that won't allow him to mount a shotgun normally. He has a Mossberg 500 Youth Model and is wondering if anything is available that would drop the butt about 2". I know that I've seen tapered shims that are used between receiver and stock to better...

    Help..Kodiak Double Rifle

Thanks guys. This stuff is exactly the kind of info I'm looking for. Wanted to get a little up to speed before I try to sell it. Btw, I've been away from THR for a spell, and had forgotten how many people we have here that are well informed, and ready to share that knowledge. Thanks again. Skip

    Help..Kodiak Double Rifle

LOL, oldbear. I wasn't talking about THAT amount of quality!! Just comparing this to other, lower end repro's. This thing is very clean. Any idea of a "real world" value? Skip

    Help..Kodiak Double Rifle

Thanks a lot. I was puzzled because the one I saw on Gunbroker had "Pedersoli" and "Italy" printed on the barrel, and mine doesn't. Am I correct in believing it's a high quality piece? Skip

Best place to live with guns.

They ALL infringe to one extent or another, but Georgia is about as gun friendly as any. And, you can pick your climate. From the cool mountains to the Atlantic coast, to the flat, hot plains of South Ga. Skip

    Cabelas ??

Thanks to everyone for the excellent response to my inquiry. I already do a good bit of business with Cabelas and agree with ya'll that they are a class act to deal with. Just wondered about the quality of their BP revolvers and glad to be getting a big thumbs up from you fellows. Skip

    Cabelas ??

Do any of you fellows have experience with the replica BP revolvers from Cabelas? More precisely, the 1860 Colt .44. Are they worth the asking price? Thanks, Skip

Flat Nose FMJ vs Round Nose FMJ

I was in a classroom several years ago where Col. Cooper told us of his experience with FMJ,RN compared to FMJ,TC in the .45 ACP. He told of shooting many jack rabbits with round nose ball only to have them hop away without SEEMINGLY being affected, where jacks shot with the trucated cone...

    SP101 3 1/16" or KAHR CW9

I'm a big Kahr fan, but for the op's stated purpose, the SP wins hands down. Just be sure and stick with the 3 1/16" as it is a much better "all around "choice than the shorter tube version. Light loads, very heavy loads, or snake shot, the SP will handle all equally well. Skip

    How often do you carry?

I carry everywhere legal, every day,and have done so for MANY years. I carry at all times at home. A home invader may get my wife and me, but I'm sure gonna try to make it really difficult for him. We just choose not to be victims. Skip

    New York Trigger

I wanted exactly the same things in my Glock triggers that SHusky57 wanted. I wanted a little firmer and heavier pull along with the reputed durability of the NY trigger. I put the NY1 spring with the stock 5.5 lb connector in one of my Glocks and after using it, quickly put the same set-up in...
