    Progressive Press?

I have a Dillon 1050, Dillon 650 and a Lee Loadmaster. I like them in the order I listed them and they are listed in order from most expensive to least expensive. The loadmaster has a lot of features for the money, but has been a bit more finicky for me. The Dillon 1050 is a dream to operate...

    Bullet Shopping Etiquette

I buy in very large quantities and have it shipped to my house. -Lonnie

Yes, I guess it does happen. (Exploding primers)

I have done the same thing with a different press when I got a 9mm stuck in a .45 case. The pin got all bent up and the 9mm case got stuck up in the die, but the unprimed case advanced when it got to the priming station, the new primer got crushed ugainst the unspent primer....***BAM***. It...

Help...I want to reload, what do I need?

I have reloaded for a few years and own a chrono, but I have honestly never used it. I load mostly pistol and stay within published guidelines. I also shoot at relatively short distances. -Lonnie

    Do I reload or not.

The argument for reloading gets a lot more compelling when you are shooting the less common calibers. Certain calibers just about require you t o reload. For common ppistol service calibers, I think reloading only really makes sense if you actually enjoy reloading. If it seems like a chore...

    Dillon is fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I broke a primer slider on the LM. Maybe I am mechanically declined, but I am guessing this is a commonly busted part. It turns out it is indeed under warranty, but you have to send the busted one into them to get your free $2 primer slider. They won't take your word for it. I went ahead and...

    Do I reload or not.

To add to what others have said above, the reasons that a lot of reloaders continue to reload are a lot different than the things that got them started. I doubt the spouses of reloaders would argue that it saves money, but it does allow you to shoot a lot more for the same amount. -Lonnie

    Using brass from the range?

Not much to add here except to say that I love to watch out for folks shooting commercial ammo in calibers that I like. When they start to clean up, I just offer to do it for them. They are happy to let me do it and the discussion often gets into reloading. -Lonnie

    Dillon is fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is truly an advantage to the Lee decap die. I use a Lee die in the first station of both my blue presses. The only problem that the feel is not different when the case gets decapped or the the rod gets pushed up in the die. You will definitely noticed a difference on the next stroke...

    Question on brass

I would not use brand new brass (especially in .45 ACP) unless I was working outside published powder charts. I load the same .45 brass till it splits or I lose it (normally the case.) -Lonnie

Progressive or single stage for beginner?

I started out on a pimped out Dillon 650. I may not be as mechanically gifted as some, because it took me quite a while to setup. A few years later, I was able to setup a super 1050 much easier because I knew what I was doing. The learning curve is a lot steeper with the progressive, but the...
