Well I think I've decided on the 45-70. Now I just need to decide on the model, I definitely want a Marlin even if it is a new Remington made Marlin. I'm looking at the cb, cba, gbl, and the trapper.
I'm trying to decide on a lever action, I'm torn between a 45lc, 44mag (marlin or rossi), and a Marlin 45-70. I plan on using it for hunting, mainly hogs but also for protection against eastern black bear. I do plan to reload so ammo cost isn't a big deal to me.

I agree, I had five Mosin Nagant 91/30's I got them cause the are/where cheap, I sold four of them mainly cause I never shoot them, I still have an all matching Tula and 1500 rounds last time I counted, I would much rather have any American weapon from WW2. I have a couple AR15's but I prefer...

I'm building a RECCE upper and was looking at using a Rainier Arms select 5.56 stainless barrels, would I be better off with the stainless barrel or a cold hammer forged barrel? I'll use it for "precision" shooting, and for a hunting/woods gun, I have a 16" carbine for personal defense and plinking
I love the old warhorse look, I got one that looks like crap, and none of the numbers match, so i was wanting to get "creative" with it, I made the stock look pretty good (well better then it was) I just wanted to try to make the metal look better.
