    Anyone powder coating?

Powder coating if using Eastwood is so quick and simple. A shake or 3 and they're coated, toss them in the oven for 20 minutes are around 400f and you're ready to size and load. Right now I only coat 45,38, & 9....I'm about to give 300 a try.

Most popular handgun brand of THR owners

Bad news is...I only own specimens from 5 of those on the list....Good news is I only have interest in 2 of the remaining brands listed... Colt and HK I do have interest in 3 or 4 brands not listed...

Are the DA/SA pistols staging a comeback??

As long as I knock the plate down first DA pull I don't care. So far after 32 years I'm getting pretty good at it since I can now afford decent SA/DA pistols like my latest the CZ p-01. I have found that once I'm back at 25 yards or so I sometimes do struggle hitting the first plate. But in the...

Are Glock owners the new 1911 people?

Glockers have always been the same. They're the ones that won't begin to admit other brands are anything but range toys at best. They mumble things like "your funeral" or "why would you buy that" when they see you at the range with a sidearm you claim is going to serve as a self defense...

    S&W M&P45 M2.0 review... Its a Glock killer

I was at a gun show the week after the 2.0 was released, I liked the 2.0 so much I sold a Ruger SR45 I'd brought with me to buy a 5" 9mm. But after doing the deed I just couldn't buy another 9mm and instead decided I'd wait for one in 45. Kinda sad they don't have a 5" version of the 2.0 but...

    Best Semi-auto Pocket Pistol ?

The easiest answer is the gun that actually is pocket sized. That means thin and light and easy to slip into your pocket with a holster. Close to the size and weight of your cell phone is ideal. For me that really only leaves LCP sized pocket pistols.

    Total Disappointment

Stories like this (and mag complaints) are what scared me away from the CM/CW series and into my Shield. While my Shield has been 100%, I keep reading kahr like stories about the shield.

    EDC too much??

On body I have two, an LCP and a Shield. I also have two others that I sometimes hand carry from vehicle to vehicle, AKA my M-F sidearms since I can't carry at work.

    Lubricate the slide?

https://www.amazon.com/DeoxITL260-Grease-L260Np-jar-particles/dp/B00DK88VFK I've used this zero particle grease for around 15 years now. I find it very useful for anything that doesn't take 5oz or grease per application, on the plus side you can also use it on electrical connections.

    CZ75B Omega 9mm for $399... how'd I do?

Downside to the omega trigger is not as much support from the big two aftermarket CZ companies. Simple solution to the slide problem is cock the hammer, then rack the slide. My 75 omega is just plain stupid accurate. My benchmark for figuring out accuracy is giving a pistol to my wife, if...

Handled a Shield 2.0 today. Nice!

I checked one out at a local dealer yesterday when I dropped off a O/U to get some work done. It did feel good, like most all M&P's. I guess the only complaint I've ever had was the somewhat slick grip on hot days after several mags. With the release of the 2.0s Smith is getting close to...

What was the first semi auto handgun you ever shot, and what was the first one you purchased?

    A 1960's Hi-Standard 22 somewhere around 75. First semi auto I bought was a PT92 in 1987, then I won one on a tip board a week later.

    LCP-II: Inferior?

The LCP and II are both great carry guns. The II is a little larger but still a great pistol for pocket carry, though not as nice as the smaller more easily pocket carried first gen LCPs. The II is almost too large for pocket carry, but just squeeks in by a nose.

S&W finally did wht most of us thought with the Shield

I ditched my G26 and ended up replacing it with a Shield. Other than being a tad heavy it's almost the perfect carry gun. Thin enough to be carried OWB in a leather pancake, yet big enough to beat down plates at 25 yards with near 100% consistency. I wouldn't mind a new 2.0, I've never minded...

    Pick an autoloader....

Hate glock with all my heart....but plastic 10mm's is their one gun I would own. Either a SF g20 (I had a g20) or the g40. For every other application there's better options, but in this case I'd have to go glock.

stupid question of the week: S&W Shield safety removal?

Never figured out how folks ride bikes or run with a gun as large and heavy as the Shield. IMHO it's LCPII time.

At least it's not a glock.... But then again M&P and CZ both make excellent options.
