How many of you actually like to shoot?

I love to shoot. I like reactionary targets the best (cans, metal popper targets, plastic bottles), things that fall over when shot. Shooting paper can be a little dull, but actually seeing objects move when hit is satisfying.

    Sonoma County Gun Confiscation/Testing

^I don't recall that specific event, although I have read of many similar cases. Sonoma County as a whole is very anti-gun. The only pro-gun counties in this state tend to be small, rural counties. Even with the progun counties, most of those living in those counties don't belond to the NRA...

    Sonoma County Gun Confiscation/Testing

^Sounds like a nice state. The only reason I haven't moved yet is all my family is here and my job is here. With the job market a little down, I'd be worried about finding jobs in other states. Maybe someday though, if it gets much worst I'll have to leave this liberal cesspool state.

    Sonoma County Gun Confiscation/Testing

For the record, I live in this county and actually work for the newspaper company that wrote this article. When I read this article at work, I almost had a stroke. I certainly will be ticked off if the police ask me to voluntarily surrender any firearm--I don't think they will, but you never...

    Sonoma County Gun Confiscation/Testing

http://www1.pressdemocrat.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20040903/NEWS/409030350/1033/NEWS01 Its started, a murder in the county and now the officials are asking some citizens to voluntarily give up their firearms for testing. How much do you bet these folks never get their guns back even if...

    Flashlights

If you do decide on the C-Maglite (a very well made light, but it has its bad quirks with poor beam quality and effective runtime), you might want to check out the "holsters" that Maglite offers. They have a pastic ring that attaches to your belt, and you put the Maglite in the ring and it...

    Flashlights

I agree, Surefires are #1 but the reason I didn't recommend them is that they are small and he wants something capable of being a club.

    Flashlights

What is your price range? Since I prefer LEDs, specifically luxeon based LEDs, I would recommend a Blaster 3P (Elektrolumens). http://elektrolumens.com/ (homepage) http://elektrolumens.com/BLASTER/POLICE_HEAD/Blaster_Police.html (Blaster 3P specs)...

(CA) Ruling bars rangers from guns

This is utter bull squat, IMO. I've hiked the Mount Tam region many times, and it is NOT a safe region to be unarmed. I've ran into one mountain lion (luckily it was 100 yards away), and even a few shaky folks on the Tamalpais mountain range. After several nerve racking incidents in the area...

    Ruger P345

Ruger already has an ad out for this model in the latest issue of "Handguns" magazine. I scanned a copy of the ad and attached it. Edit: attachment didn't work

Color me impressed by the new Ruger P345R

Looks impressive and actually nice looking for a polymer Ruger. Will the magazine discconnect device that blocks the firing pin cause premature wear on the pin if dry-fired a lot? If this model gets a good reputation and proven reliability, I might get one down the road.

Do You Also Carry A Flashlight With Your CCW ???

Update: I'm now carrying: Pelican M6 LED (main light) Arc LSH-S (backup) Arc AAA (backup to the backup/keychain light). All three fit on me well, and all three are very good lights.

Do You Also Carry A Flashlight With Your CCW ???

I'm now carrying a Pelican M6 LED on a belt holster, and an Arc AAA-P clipped to a pocket (I like using the pocket clip).

2004 SHOT Show Report -- LED Flashlights

I'm hoping for more regulated flashlight choices. Not too many regulated flashlight choices yet.

Any Experience With the Pelican M6 LED?

^ Glad to be of help. BTW, the M6 LED is shorter than a 2AA Minimag light, to put size into persective. Its a little wider than a Minimag though. Fits on the belt holster very nicely, and is easy to EDC. Despite the size, the brightness and beam are magnificant. This is one of the few...

Any Experience With the Pelican M6 LED?

I have a M6 LED. Its truly a fabulous light. Bright, pure white beam, exceptional beam quality, very good quality (fit + finish), small (easy to EDC in a holster), good ergonomics, etc. Very good throw for its size, plus excellent sidespill. Beam quality is unbelievable....the Luxeon...

    I need some Flashlights.

At about $35, the Streamlight Luxeon Star Task light is IMO an exceptional value. Mine has excellent beam (appears pure white), and is very bright for its 3AA size. I recommend this model as a great entry level (affordable) Luxeon Star LED.

    My new favorite flashlight

I have the Luxeon LED Streamlight task light. Its very bright for its size, and the beam is very white. Great beam quality for the price. I highly recommend it.
