Hey everyone,
I recently purchased a used Brazilian Springfield Armory Compact 45. The frame is marked FI Brazil and has an "N" serial number. Pretty interesting little piece historically.
My main question stems from the fact the recoil system seems to be different than most compact 45's...
Update.
I fixed the spring. The charging handle mechanism works.
However I am still having an insanely difficult time charging the weapon. I have to mortar it and slam it on the ground by the buttstock to get it moving. I have oiled the cocking tube, the bolt, and every piece that might...
Never had a chance to test the bolt gap before the malfuntion occurred. Its in pieces now so I will reassemble it tomorrow to test it again.
As for the cocking handle, there was only a gap after I pulled the lever to engage the rollers. Then there was a slight gap as the cocking process had...
Hey everyone,
I own a standard PTR-91 GI model and had a peculiar problem the other day. The charging handle spring started to protrude from the handle itself. This was clearly due to a mangled spring. (The charging handle was always more difficult to manipulate than a usual PTR so I assumed it...
Thanks guys
I suppose you're right. Too little information to make an accurate hypothesis at this time. I will take it out this week and see what happens. It will be an indoor 100 yard range, temp controlled, and same lot of ammo. I will update the results.
Its possible that lots get mixed up. Especially since we get ammo issued to us. But its all the same manufacturer and grain at all times. Velocity holds steady and never fluctuates more than 20 FPS give or take.
I punched the barrel with a boresnake, but it wasn't a spotless perfectly cleaned rifle. I tend to shoot with a slightly fouled barrel for consistency.
But yea, this shot was fired with a clean barrel in comparison to my previous zero.
Hey all,
Got an odd occurrence the other day with my new rifle. Its an Accuracy International Arctic Warfare in 308. Currently shooting 168gr Federal BTHP.
Back in August I zeroed it at 100 yards with a warm bore in 90 degree temperatures.
Yesterday I go to take a cold bore shot...
Also, upon loading a magazine into the frame without the slide, I can tell that the magazine itself is touching the slide lock lever. The magazine edge is touching the lever slightly. Not enough that it is even pushing the lever up. This occurs with all three magazines.
So maybe thats...
I'll check the mags, but I don't think thats the issue. I was using one brand new magazine and two used ones. And the issue occurred on all three mags.
Today I will be shaving some metal down slightly and will give an update soon. Thanks for your help so far guys!
So I took the slide off and inspected it by putting a loaded mag in the well to see if it activated the slide lock lever. There are markings on the side that are consistent with something rubbing against it. I doubt that the magazine follower would cause that. Its probably hitting a round at...
Hey all,
I have a 1991 manufactured Browning Hi Power. I bought it used so the history on the gun is unknown. I took it to the range today and put about 150 rounds through it. I used 3 separate magazines. 2 were factory and one was a MecGar. I fired 9mm FMJ from various manufacturers...
I am cycling right now only. But I am using standard 55 grain brass cased federal 556.
It seems hit or miss. Like one round every 10 or so just stays in the chamber.
Hey all,
I have a Mossberg MVP Patrol in 556.
Haven't shot it yet, so I am perhaps worried about my problem prematurely.
I have been cycling some rounds just to make sure the mags and bolt are working properly. It appears if I cycle the bolt quickly, the extractor sometimes fails to...
Hey all,
I am the proud new owner of an IMI Uzi Pistol. One of the ones imported to Phila PA back in the 1980's.
So I check the weapon out. Load the mag, chamber a round and extract the round. Function check is fine too.
However, after doing that a few times, I can no longer...
Thanks!
I believe I may be to far removed from all the facts to adequately provide information.
From my understanding, the lawyer is not an obstacle in this matter. If anything he is a facilitator. He has PA residency and is holding the guns there because she can't have them at her...
So this is a doozy of a question for me. Perhaps it is just out of my realm of expertise.
My brother's friend has a father who is dying in a hospice home. The home has some control over his assets to continue paying for the care. However, the old man's guns have been secured and are...
Yea closer inspection yields my magazine looks nothing like the one in the last reply on my thread. I ordered some 10 rounders and am looking for a 15 rounder. I will continue to try my luck. Thanks for the help so far guys.
I take no offense to that question, but yes I am using the right ammunition. The round seats fine inside the chamber without a magazine, and ejects perfectly.
